Except the season isn't over. And while all of the other teams' schedules will get harder, Boise State plays nobody of significance the rest of the way.

Yeah, the simple math of them going undefeated vs a school in a good conference is huge. Always has bothered me about rinky dink conference schools and the Big East schools.

Not wrong. Don't care about those. Its the middle pf the season and teams like OkSt and Stanford have their toughest games ahead of them, whike Boise has what 2 games that can be deemed hard? Wait till both are undefeated at the end of the year and try convincing any sane person that Boises schedule was harder than a Big 12 or PAC 12 schedule.

Boise plays absolutely no one. List their top 3 games against those of okst and stanford and see of they even compare.

Boise remaining schedule - unlv, tcu, sdsu, wyo, unm - impressive huh?
Ok st - ksu, ttu, isu, okla, big 12 championship
Stanford - Orst, ore, Cal, Nd, PAC 12 championship

And you really expect people to believe that Boise has it rough?

Wrong. Since there are only 10 teams, there is no Big 12 Championship Game.

For Stanford, Oregon State is horrible. Notre Dame is no better than TCU and San Diego State. And Cal is even worse.

Yup. Don't know how I forgot that.

And if you wanna analyze schedules, look at Boises remaining 4. There's not a good team there. TCU and their two losses against a pretty weak schedule is the best there.

When it all comes down to it, Boise is gonna play Georgia and tcu as good opponents. That's not enough to get them over a team that won a major conference.

you can't put any stock into a system that thinks Boise State had a tougher schedule than a Big 12 team or a Pac 12 team when Boise has played all mid-majors (and most of them with losing record btw) but only 1 BCS conference team (that isn't a great team either). Stanford had to play @USC. That game alone makes their schedule tougher.

If Oklahoma State or Stanford goes undefeated, I'm with you. They should go over Biose State. But let's say Alabama goes undefeated. Obviously they will be in the Championship Game. And let's say Stanford loses to Oregon, Oklahoma State to Oklahoma, and LSU finishes 11-1, all of which is very likely. I think this is the year that Boise should finally get their chance. I would much rather see Boise vs. Alabama than an Alabama-LSU rematch.

So let's say Alabama/LSU goes undefeated and makes the BCS championship, other teams lose and Boise St. is the only other undefeated.

So we have Alabama/LSU vs. Boise St. in the championship, which I would be in favor of. If Boise St. loses by 2 TDs or more, how far does that set them back perception wise? What about other mid majors? I think if Boise finally gets their chance, and were to lose by anything more than 10 points really, the media would punish them and other mid majors for a pretty long time.

I honestly don't think it would be a huge deal. Stanford would probably lose by double digits to Alabama/LSU too.

I personally think you give Stanford a month to prepare for that game and you'd see an upset there. It actually wouldn't surprise me in the least. Stanford has the better talent on offense and do enough on defense to confuse a first year QB in McCarron.

As it should be. Finally putting one of these mid majors in the championship game will end all debate. If they are blown out, then we'll see that, unless a mid major plays a legitimate schedule like multiple top 20 BCS schools, they don't belong in the BCS. If they lose by a FG or even win, then maybe we need to start believing that teams like Boise State really can compete with the Big Boys.

As for Stanford, I think they beat LSU or Alabama. The big advantage of SEC defenses is speed. That is why the spread teams don't do well against them. But that isn't Stanford's style. And SEC defenses are overhyped due to the fact that they don't play a single good QB. There are three decent QBs in the SEC. Not great, decent. Andrew Luck would pick apart those defenses.

I agree that it wouldn't to most, but the media will probably take that and run with, "See, Boise doesn't belong ever," or, "This is why mid-major teams shouldn't be allowed to play for a championship."

It wouldn't be fair because how Boise does this year has absolutely no bearing on how strong a team, Boise or otherwise, is in the future. But voters would look back and likely alter how they vote based on how Boise does in a championship game.

yeah, Stanford is built more like those Wisconsin teams that always beat up on SEC teams in bowl games, except they have a much better QB. Pound the ball with running backs and a great O-Line, out physical the DBs with big tight ends. However Stanford doesn't have that much talent in their receiving corps or on defense to beat a team like Alabama or LSU that is crawling with NFL talent everywhere except at QB. Alabama is more about size than just speed in their front seven as well. They probably have the biggest linebacker corps I've ever seen on a college team.

I don't think it has any bearing. We know they can hang with teams in major conferences, we've seen it plenty of times before. I just hate that they get rewarded for playing a schedule that it's an upset if they don't get undefeated.

Don't see all the great pro talent along the Bama and Tigers offensive line to be honest. Carpenter was a high pick last year going to Seattle and he's been terrible so far. I'll take Martin and DeCastro over anything those other teams can come up with.

I'm right there with some of the great SEC teams over the last few years in Florida and Bama but i dont see it this year. Both the top SEC teams have some real question marks at QB especially. I dont see Andrew Luck losing a matchup witb whatever QB that emerges from saturday's game.

Keep saying that. If Nevada wins the WAC, Toledo wins the MAC, Tulsa wins the C-USA and Georgia wins the SEC, Boise will be the first team to ever beat 4 conference champs in a season.

And not to mention 9 of the 12 teams on Boise's schedule are bound to finish over .500, which would tie the current record I believe.

Of course UGA winning the SEC is a really long shot, but who knows.

Of course UGA winning the SEC is a really long shot, but who knows.
:/

Beating the WAC, MAC and C-USA champs doesnt mean **** in comparison to LSU or Bamas wins.

Also....zero chance UGA wins the SEC. I would **** a brick if they did

Toledo just blew their chance at the MAC too, and I really doubt Tulsa is winning the C-USA.

But yeah....that's nice.

I'm right there with some of the great SEC teams over the last few years in Florida and Bama but i dont see it this year. Both the top SEC teams have some real question marks at QB especially. I dont see Andrew Luck losing a matchup witb whatever QB that emerges from saturday's game.
i was of course speaking broadly, though DJ Fluker on 'Bama's O-Line is a legit pro prospect. I'm sure there are some underclassmen there that people aren't talking about. Point is they are loaded with pro talent, Stanford isn't in the same class talent wise across the board.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/s...for-lsualabama

4 offensive linemen on there. 3 for Bama and 1 for LSU. and that's just for this draft.

Yeah. The SEC's OOC schedules are completely laughable. And also some of their in-conference schedule as well. UK and Ole Miss, damn. I don't think they could win the Sun Belt.
