Lack of creativity. Throw a "Ja" or "Da/e" in front of any regular name and you have a black name!

I hope this thread doesn't get locked. It'll just prove how sensitive this board is.
This thread isn't racist, the OP never said anything derogatory condescending or insulting.
But yeah there are some strange names out there:
like D'brickashaw (sp?) fergeuson?
And just to expand on this.
I'm chinese and in high school me and my friends use to make fun of how korean girls were always named grace or ester.

Ooh and just a little tidbit of information before this will most likely get locked by some sensitive mod.
a majority of blacks' last names came from their master's last name when they were slaves. When slavery ended they just simply adopted their masters' sur names.
(learned that from a tutor in high school)

I know Kobe was named after Kobe beef, no joke.
From Wikipedia:
Quote:
|
His parents named him after the famous beef of Kobe, Japan, which they saw on a restaurant menu.

I actually know a guy named Kobe who is 26, so before Kobe could have influenced it.
I also know a couple of girls named Kobe or some variant spelling, same sort of age.
So it's not the rarest name!

I'm not sure why you think Angus is weird? It's a Scottish/Gaelic name that has been around forever. I dare say it has gaelic origins and a genuine meaning it is that old. Gus is just a shortened version of Angus.
Billy Bob is just two shortened names joined as one and really unless hyphenated is just a shortening of William with Robert as a middle name. So again, not exactly absurd. Both being very common names.
Really as far as "white" names go you picked some of the less odd ones.

My roommate met a white girl called Sequoia. It's some kind of tree.
Also, Purdue's former basketball players JaJuan and E'twan. The Juan is pronounced like the spanish version. His name is a ghettoed version of a spanish name.
And E'twan is not derived from anything, I think. Twan is nothing, and maybe Wan is another ghettoiffication of the name Juan.
