Decided to make an official Skyrim thread since people will be getting it on different systems.
I'm rolling with the PC version myself, obviously.
Hate the console-ported user interface for PC (simple mod should fix it), but everything else is amazing. DA2 did the same thing with its interface, and it's becoming more and more common. Makes sense because it's a lot harder to port a UI from PC to console than the other way around...it's still lazy and clunky.
What did everyone create for their first character?
I'm going straight RP for the setting and rolled a Nord. Mostly have used two-handed weapons so far, so I imagine I'll start down that path, but am not certain. I took the first Smithing perk, but have not invested beyond that (level 5).
Unfortunately, my gaming was interrupted by electricians and a planned date tonight. Will continue my quest tomorrow!
I want to get it, but the days I work I don't have time for it and the days I'm off I'm never home. It's ******** there are too many good games coming out, and I am aware that me complaining about that is ******** but whatevers.
I'm going to give it a a little time and then get it for PC. I'm a huuuuge huuuuuge Morrowind fan but unmodded Oblivion made me want to cry.
I'll see what the flaws of the game turn out to be and let the modding community fix them up. Plus, I might be able to a used copy for cheap if I want a bit.

Played for about 5 hours straight when I got home from work today and have loved every minute of it. Amazing game.
Edit: As for my character, I made a Nord with a steady rotation of a 1-handed sword, shield, destruction/restoration spells and a bow. For my first character (the one I spend the most time on) I like to make a jack-of-all-trades type guy, then later I'll probably make a stealthy dude (still have no idea which race I'll pick here, I'm leaning argonian because they look bad ass) and maybe even a pure mage and pure warrior in the future. I can see this game keeping me occupied for quite a while.

I'm pretty new. I only played a little bit of Oblivion and never got around to Morrowind. I really like it. Some things aren't very straight forward, but you figure them out.
same here, a buddy of mine at work got me interested. Only problem is, like many others, i do not have enough time in the day to sit around and play video games.
Complete a quest for the Jarl of Dragonreach in Whiterun to begin your journey to lycanthropy. From there, drop by the Companions faction. They’ll give you a series of quests to complete.
Finish every quest they give you until you complete the chain, and the Companions will send you on one final job. To gather some items before meeting them in the Underforge.
In the Underforge, you’ll enter into the ritual to become a werewolf. Now, you’ll need to figure out where to find a cure…
The benefits of becoming a Werewolf are; your health and stamina increase by 100, your sprinting speed becomes faster than a horse’s gallop.
You gain a new shout that instills fear in enemies and summons wolves, while also gaining some hand-to-hand melee damage bonuses. You’re also a criminal, and will be hunted by guards while in werewolf form.
There are drawbacks; you can’t use spells, equip items, or loot corpses in wolf-form. You also won’t be able to talk to NPCs.
Your werewolf form will also scare away NPCs, or turn them hostile towards you. If you’re caught transforming into a werewolf, it’s counted as a major crime.
Beware, you’re also weak against silver!
Transforming into a werewolf is temporary, so the change isn’t permanent. If you do change into a werewolf, try to do it far away from civilization.

Okay... Note to self and all that care. If you are still a low level don't **** with a Mammoth. They are big, fast, take a ton of damage and deal out more.
