"Get real." Pfft. "OMG! ONE YEAR OF CAM NEWTON BEING GOOD! GREATEST OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR EVER!!!!"

uh, years? He got Derek ****ing Anderson to the pro bowl in year 1 then got fired in year 2 because Derek Anderson turned back into Derek Anderson and he couldn't do anything with Brady Quinn
The guy is an offensive genius and covered up a lot of Cam's flaws this year. Now I dont know if he'd make a good HC but he's a great OC

Fine, you hire him and watch him be the next Mularkey, Cameron, Shurmur type at head coach. I wouldn't touch him until I get to see more of Newton's continued development. He still has flaws that need to be overcome, not just covered up.

The Jaguars interview list is getting more and more ridiculous.

John Clayton of ESPN reports that Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy also will be interviewed.

Are they going to run the Tebow offense with Gabbert? Because that might be kind of funny to see.

Funny note...in the last 10 season, counting this one, Bill Belichick has lost 37 games.
In the last three, Spags has lost 38.

1997-2008 Buccaneers longest losing streak : 4 games.
2009-2011 : Morris has losing streaks of 5, 7 and 10 games.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, "it is all but certain" that Jeff Fisher will be the Rams' next head coach.
Usually a Chargers paper, the Union-Trib has had several recent Rams scoops because they've been targeting current Bolts GM A.J. Smith, and beat reporter Kevin Acee has followed the situation closely. It sounds like Fisher and Smith aren't a package deal, though. In this scenario, Fisher would likely be tabbed as head coach first, and then have say in the Rams' general manager hiring. With the Oilers (now Titans), Fisher was originally hired by current Patriots Senior Football Advisor Floyd Reese. If Reese is still up to it -- he's 64 -- it's conceivable that he'd be on St. Louis' short list of GM targets

I liked Sam Bradford too that sucks. The defense is going to suck even more next year if he brings Chuck Cecil with him.

The Jags are looking at all OCs that have had success with young QBs. Murlakey and Chudzinski are probably the top 2 candidates for that position. Murlakey has failed as a HC before, but sometimes re-treads are better the 2nd go around after gaining more experience.
Chudzinski is an interesting HC prospect. I think he's got a solid future ahead, but he's a difficult one to evaluate. He's only got one year with Cam Newton and it was successful. However, I want to see how he develop's Cam Newton more as a passer because next year, he won't be able to run all over defenses like he did this year.

Basically, Gene Smith wants to do everything possible to make Gabbert succeed and will get a QB's guru to develop him.
However, Gabbert seems to have terrible pocket presences and too me, he creates his own pressure when there is none. I don't know if that can be coached when you're scared back there.

Yeah that's the only negative about Jeff Fisher coming to any team. Honestly, the hottest DC prospect is Leavitt, LBs coach from SF. I think he;'ll land as a DC after the playoffs.

I'm just going to assume Romeo Crennel is going to get/keep the Chiefs job.
I'm more worried on what they do at OC and DC...

I wouldn't be so sure of that. He never really did well in Cleveland. I think he's better suited as a DC. Something tells me Kirk Ferentz from Iowa is a name to keep in mind.

Ferentz isn't going to the NFL.

Kirk Ferentz has turned down nfl jobs time and time again, what makes anyone think he's leaving now.

Mike Martz resigned as OC of the Bears. BeerBaron couldn't be reached for comment as he bought a lot of lotion and kleenex and has asked to not be disturbed for the next few days.

I might have to dust off the old resume and print out some sheets from the Madden playbook. I hope a combination of "I-Form PA Rollout" and "Shotgun Curls" still fly these days.
It'll probably be down to me, Ron Turner and direct snapping to Devin Hester every play. I like my odds.

He actually did a good job with Jay Cutler. Cut his INTs from 26 to like 12 in 1 year? And really improved on his TO ratios this year as well.

But every year he'd start trying to revert back to his Greatest Show on Turf offense with 5 and 7 step drops and empty backfields....Would get Cutler killed for 5 or so weeks before adjusting. Did the same thing once Hanie took over as starter.
His inability and/or unwillingness to adapt permanently did him in.

God knows how many years he took off his career in doing so.
Glad to see the back of him. So glad.

With all the openings, maybe they didn't like the candidates to run this team. I think they're target was Bill Cowher and since he stated he doesn't want to leave his anaylst job, Chargers stayed pat.
