I imagine that we will most certainly be in the 43 most of the time, but some 34 looks would be extremely welcomed.

Mike Zimmer is no longer under consideration for the Miami job. Finalists are Mike McCoy, Todd Bowles, and Joe Philbin

I put my money on Philbin. He could bring in Matt Flynn to run his offense. It seems the Phins' want an offensive mind.

Have fun there. No idea why he was given consideration. That offense was a joke. Maybe he begged and was willing to work for peanuts to get away from Tebow.

What was McCoy supposed to....do...
Really, I think McCoy did a fantastic job managing the talent (lol) he had on offense. He basically re-designed that offense on the fly. He's been an NFL guy his entire coaching career, so it's not like he had a ton of read-option stuff to just magically integrate into the offense.

I may have to take this back as reports are Philbin will take the Miami job if offered.
It's all interesting. Philbin and McCoy had the best interviews by far according to sources.
Sounds like either one would keep Bowles as the DC

Philbin would be a great hire. He's very underrated because McCarthy calls the plays, but McCarthy never had great offenses in any capacity (not even as an OC) until he hired Philbin as OC. Once he teamed up with Philbin, the system exploded.
I really hope nobody hires him.

Interesting. Apparently Philbin will not interview for Tampa now? Just wondering because reports were he was going to this week.
No offense to Philbin, who I think is a great candidate, but I want Zimmer.

I think Philbin makes the most sense. Matt Flynn could follow him, which he's been in Philbin's system for 4 years.
It's just the perfect for the Miami, in my opinion.

I think it has more to do with getting a real QB than Philbin.
Year..yds....pts....QB
2000: 10th 10th Aaron Brooks
2001 10th 13th Aaron Brooks
2002 19th 3rd Aaron Brooks
2003 11th 14th Aaron Brooks
2004 15th 14th Aaron Brooks
2005 32nd 31st Alex Smith
2006 9th 22nd Brett Favre
2007 2nd 4th Brett Favre
2008 8th 5th Aaron Rodgers

According to Miami Herald Mike Zimmer lost out on the Miami job because he was to "blunt and honest" for the Dolphins.

This is hilarious. I think this makes it obvious that the Dolphins are going to be a team build in Ireland's mold, not whoever they hire as coach.

That doesn't even make sense. Is there anyone stupid enough to believe they actually told him that?
Edit: That's a rhetorical question. Of course there is.

SUPAH STAH TEAM!! COMPETE WIF DA HEAT!!
I don't know why I typed it like that. That would only work if they wanted to make sure that, after the initial wave of interest, no one showed up to Dolphin games anymore.

The Raiders will interview Mike Tice for their head coaching job.
And all of that optimism Raiders fans had for Reggie McKenzie is gone.

Oh c'mon now... Here I was accepting our OC situation and now that might be gone.
We'll probably end up with Brian Schottenheimer or someone equally terrible.

Raiders list of Head Coaching candidates is pretty pedestrian...
Carmichael
Morningwheg
Moss
McCoy
Capers
Bowles
Tice
None of those names look very good to me...

I like the potential of Moss out of all those candidates. I'm leery of how Carmichael would transition to being a HC

I said this in one of BBs week in review threads. mccoy made big adjusments midseason and was creative and smart with what he had to work with. he was resourceful and able to adapt to his personnel quickly, i thought it was impressive. most coaches wouldve just said '**** it im running my system and tebow either sinks or swims.'
