SYNOPSIS
It’s been one year after Joseph’s 5 year plan and life is not what he had initially planned it. Dull mornings, followed by seemingly wasted hours of work during the day only to come home to repeat the same cycle in the morning. Everything Joseph hoped for has even begun to pan out for him. One day Joseph wakes up and he tells himself he’s done with his same old life style and calls into work and quits. Joseph sells everything in his possession, house, cars, and clothes only holding onto a few items. He begins his new life and new journey traveling to anywhere without a destination. From town to town traveling from bus to bus and walking to a unknown destination.

SYNOPSIS
Wednesday, October 24th
The clock reads 2:18 when I finally stir from what seemed like days of sleep. The sun peeking through the curtains would indicate that this 2:13 is of the P.M. variety. ****. I toss and turn but I soon come to realize that I’ll never be able to fall back into my natural state of slumber. It’s truly a shame. I’ll never experience anything more bliss for the rest of my days.
I arise from my habitat, determined but unwilling to start yet another hell day. I throw on my best clothes and head into the parlor room, where I find the essence of life hidden deep within the bowels of my couch-side table. I cut three lines of the finest South American import, only to see them gone in a matter of seconds. The Breakfast of Champions. I find myself newly invigorated, but yet unprepared as I head out of my home and onto the Gotham streets.
s usual, the doorman hails a cab as I walk out of my building. But I think I’d rather walk today. A few spliffs walking up 2nd Avenue would do me just fine. It’s a nice day in New York City, a mild temperature for October. The afternoon sun glistens off the skyscrapers as I walk uptown. Within time, I arrive at my destination. The Fleming Building, Columbus Circle. Home to my wonderful, former employer, Snuff Magazine, which at one time was respectable trash recently turned into a rag for high school kids and Brooklyn hipsters. The worst of its kind. They say they need me out by the end of the day, but even with a security escort, I find a way to escape, and lock myself in what once was my office. As a regular contributor to this **** for 28 years, they can at least afford to grant me some privacy on my final day. I close the office blinds to sit in the welcoming darkness for a little while. What was the home for my writing is now a desolate, corporate tundra. They told me some douchebag account executive will be moving into here once I’m gone. All that remains is one box, artifacts from my life as a published columnist. I instinctively and immediately find what I’m looking for. Only six pills left. Someone probably tapped into my reserve. Percocet isn’t my favorite, but for now, it’ll do. I take the box and I’m ready to go. The many faces of the office stare me down as I walk out to the elevator, security guard in tow. I’m ready to leave this wasteland in order to find my American Solace, the uninterrupted bliss that only sleep can provide. - Chuck Liddy
Bill Murray plays Chuck Liddy, a former countercultural icon and former columnist from Snuff Magazine, a pornographic and cultural magazine. Recently fired from his long running column at Snuff, Liddy finds himself alone, careless, and out of any foreseeable options. “Obsolete,” as his former boss, the new Snuff editor Sam Weiner (David Cross) referred to him. The truth is the times are changing for Chuck Liddy, and he just cannot keep current. Girls are changing, music is changing, drugs are changing. New York City is changing. The modern world disgusts the cynic, and Liddy starts to hate himself and his surroundings more and more by the day. Determined to find peace, his “American Solace”, Liddy decides to swallow his hubris and go out before this world ruins him. He sets up a single camera in his bathroom, slits his femoral artery, and begins to tell his life story. Told in a series of flashbacks, Liddy recants on his life lived from his childhood in Binghamton, New York, where he was the only child of the cold, abusive Foster Liddy (Michael Madsen), a blue collar laborer in a shoe factory, and his catatonic and alcoholic mother Margot (Amy Ryan), a waitress at a local diner. The film continues through Liddy’s days at Cornell and on the road, where he honed his skills as a writer and became the man that he is. Liddy becomes famous as an alternative journalist and assumes a role as the pen and leader of the Countercultural Movement. Liddy soon finds company with many other famous writers and figures of the time, including Ken Kesey, Neal Cassady, William Burroughs, and Jack Kerouac. He also falls in love for the first time, with Heather Portis (Chloe Sevigny), a hippie and a graduate student. The story continues as Liddy is bleeding out in his bathtub. As the movement dies down, Chuck Liddy settles down in New York’s Lower East Side and begins his career as writer for Snuff. His relationship with Heather falls apart, and Liddy lives his dream, wandering New York as a Chauvinist drunk, menacing the neighborhood. Years pass over the evolving New York City landscape. It’s 1996, and Liddy falls in love again after a chance meeting on the subway. Introduce Dianne Delacroix, a struggling French artist who had just moved to New York. They are an instant pair and the two get married shortly after. Dianne became the one true love of Chuck Liddy’s life, and she gives him his happiest times in years. That is until one fateful, infamous day, 9/11/2001, that claims Dianne as one its victims. Crushed, Liddy becomes a recluse and an addict only to resurface with his masterpiece, “American Solace”, the story of his love, life, and loss. Shift back to the bathroom. Liddy is visibly paler as the blood rushes out of artery and into the red rouge of bathwater he lays in. A blood soaked Liddy takes a drag from his Camel Wide. Slowly, Liddy falls asleep, unconscious and deceased, finally finding his American Solace.

SYNOPSIS
The film begins with a woman, Katherine (Carey Mulligan), sitting in the middle of a ruined world, surrounded by relics of long abandoned cities that are no longer functioning or populated. By all intents and purposes, the world has ended, though Katherine is still there. As the wind blows, parts of her begin to fade away in with it, going with the wind as though she were made of sand. Slowly, she turns to ash. Katherine is then reborn from the ashes as though she were a Phoenix, looking no different than she had minutes before. We see tears in her eyes as she goes on living, alone, while nothing else survives.

It's the 1930's, and Katherine is a child, living with her family in an English countryside estate. She is cared for mostly by her mother Juliette (Kristin Scott Thomas), rarely spending any sort of time with her father George (Gary Oldman), whom she seems frightened of, and is jumpy while around, implying some sort of abuse. Katherine would then walk in on her father beating her mother and then storming out. Her mother takes her and flees the household.
It is over twenty years later, though Katherine looks to have only aged a mere ten, and she is at the bedside of her dying mother. They now live in poverty in France. Her mother tells her to not live on as she had for the last twenty years, fearful and resentful of men because of what she witnessed as a child, and to live her life. She then reveals that the man, George, was not Katherine's real father, but that her father was an American who was called off for the first World War and never returned.
A few years later, now in the early 1960s, and Katherine had finally tracked down her real fathers grave. As she sat in a diner that night alone, a man named Eric Wirth (Michael Fassbender) approaches her, noticing her sadness. Rather than ignoring him and walking away as she normally would, she remembers back to her mothers words, and has a cup of coffee with him. Though keeping herself at a distance as she is still uncomfortable with the idea of companionship after witnessing what she did as a child, Katherine finds herself seeing him more and more as he pursues her romantically. She soon begins to trust that he is nothing like the man she knew as her father, and gives him her virginity. Afterward though, everything she was fearful of seems to be confirmed, as Wirth is revealed to be a serial killer who enjoys playing with his food before devouring it. He murders Katherine, leaving her in a a city back alley. After he walks away, we see Katherine's body slowly disintegrate into ash, and then her being reborn from those ashes. Sitting in the alleyway naked, fearful, and utterly confused, she vows to never fall into another man's trap, and to gain revenge on her killer.
Katherine spends several years searching for her killer, but cannot find him. Growing frustrated, she contacts Detective Lenny Boggs (Steve Buscemi), the man that has been trying to track Wirth down, claiming to have been a witness to one of the more recent murders, and giving him the killers appearance. Boggs, with a ton of pressure on him to bring this one in, and having grown obsessed with the case and depressed with his lack of success, has turned to drugs and alcohol and is a complete mess, but this new lead rejuvenates him. Together, they are able to get on the right path and track down the killer. Disagreeing about what to do with him, Boggs promises to bring justice to Wirth should Katherine allow him to bring him in and save his career. Cold toward the promises of men following what the killer did to her, Katherine refuses, murdering Wirth after shocking him with her appearance. With Boggs unable to prove that Wirth was guilty, he hangs himself.
It is 50 years later and the year 2020, and Katherine still maintains her youthful appearance even though she is now nearing 100 years old. She has to this point completely avoided another relationship with a man following her fling with Wirth, and has taken up in the French home that she and her mother lived in following their flight of England, where France has entered into the third World War. Having been a writer for most of the last half-century, Katherine now sees limited opportunity for her work, and is forced to find a job as a coffee shop waitress to make ends meet. While working, she comes across a local frenchman named Michel Durand (Guillaume Canet) reading her favorite book. After exchanging a few words about the book as well as the war and the possibility of a Nuclear winter(topical!), Michel has a cup of coffee and leaves. He continues to come in for days thereafter, speaking more and more to Katherine every time, until eventually asking her out. After getting a quick and flat-out 'no', Michel apologizes for reading the situation wrongly, and leaves. After he fails to show up again for a week, Katherine tracks him down and apologizes herself, explaining that her 'last relationship was a bad one'. Understanding, Michel tells her hed be fine with just knowing her, without it having to be anything more. A few months of daily conversation and meetings later, and Katherine, having realized that she'd truly fallen in love for the first time, asks Michel out. They end up together, and are eventually engaged.
As Katherine and Michel sit together and discuss what they each want for the wedding, a news report comes on television with an emergency warning. Several Nuclear bombs have been fired, and nuclear winter seems to finally be upon us. The film ends with a giant explosion over Paris, with everything being absolutely annihilated. As the picture rests on the destruction, Katherine once more begins to slowly rise from the ashes, back to life, to see that everything around her, including the one man that she had ever loved, is now gone, while she will remain forever alone. Tears fall from her eyes as the scene cuts and the credits roll.
CAST
Carey Mulligan (Katherine Clifton) - Best described as a human phoenix, she rises from her own ashes upon death. Scarred at a young age by implied abuse and witnessing her mother being beaten, she loathes men as a result, refusing to enter a relationship with one for years because of it. That hate and utter lack of trust is multipled tenfold when she is seduced in America, only for it to be a game played by a serial killer. After gaining revenge on her killer, she returns to the french home that she and her mother fled to years before. Content with being alone and never seeking companionship, it shocks her when she falls in love nearly a half decade later, becoming engaged and being truly happy for the first time in her life. That happiness is short lived though, as the third world war takes her fiance, as well as everything else away from her, leaving her completely alone, this time when she'd give anything not to be.
Gary Oldman (George Clifton) - A wealthy albeit violent, intemperate man, he married Mulligan's mother shortly after Muligan was born. Never showing any true interest in raising Mulligan as a daughter due to the fact that she wasnt his, he left her mother to do all the work alone. Mulligan was always fearful and jumpy when around him, implying abuse. Due to this, and because she witnessed him beating her mother, he is the reason that Mulligan despises men from an early age.
Kristin Scott Thomas (Juliette Clifton) - Mulligan's mother, she married Oldman after the death of Mulligan's father to give Mulligan a proper upbringing out of poverty. By doing that, she unintentionally lead her daughter into a traumatic childhood which shaped her life entirely. After fleeing the countryside estate and landing in France, she apologizes to Mulligan on her deathbed for leading her to that monster (Oldman), telling her to not let what he did effect her whole life, before revealing that he wasnt her real father.
Michael Fassbender (Eric Wirth) - A charismatic charmer who enters into relationships with women only to end those relationships by murdering them. Sick minded, he enjoys playing with his food before devouring it, truly getting to know the women that he murders in order to make the kills more meaningful in his mind. He meets Mulligan shortly after she tracks down the grave of her biological father, and presses his advantages on a vulnerable Mulligan to lure her into his trap. Because of him, Mulligan does not enter another relationship for more than fifty years thereafter.
Steve Buscemi (Detective Lenny Boggs) - The man in charge of catching Fassbender's serial killer. Obsessed with the case and depressed with his lack of ability to capture him, he has fallen into drugs and alcohol to cope with the pressure. He is rejuvenated when a frustrated Mulligan arrives with a description of the killer, claiming that she witnessed one of the murders. Together, they are able to track down the killer, though Chandler's hopes are dashed when Mulligan takes her revenge and murders Fassbender, leaving Chandler unable to prove that he was the serial killer. He would hang himself as a result.
Guillaume Canet (Michel Durand) - A good hearted man, he falls for Mulligan as she works as a waitress at a coffee shop that he frequents. After getting a quick and emphatic 'no' upon asking her out, he stops appearing at the shop, fearing he read the situation wrongly and offended her. She would soon track him down though, explaining that she hasnt had good luck with relationships. He accepts this, asking if they can continue talking, as he enjoys her company. Over the months, she ends up falling for him, and asking him out. They later become engaged, as he becomes the only man in Mulligan's life that she ever truly loved.

SYNOPSIS
From Shane Black, the demented mind that brought you the neo-noir buddy cop comedies Lethal Weapon and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, comes a spy comedy like no other. Rick Jordan (Joseph Gordon Levitt) and Paul Kane (Robert Downey Jr.) just want their vacation pay. As two mid level CIA agents, they know what it's like to be demeaned. After all, working for their boss isn't easy; Carl McCool (Rob Lowe) is perpetually harassing them in the nicest and most terrifying way possible. As payback, the two agents devise a drunken scheme to sell covert information to the highest bidder; in this case, internet mogul and billionaire Casey Constantine (Aaron Paul). They make the plan and collect a huge reward for their treason. Rick plans to retire somewhere warm while he's still young, and Paul plans to use the money to woo his ex-wife Anne (Kate Beckinsale). What the two bumbling agents fail to realize is that the information they've sold is in fact nuclear launch codes, and Constantine plans to use this information to incite nuclear winter.
After their tech support agent Malcolm (Sam Rockwell) finds out what they've done and brings their attention to the impending nuclear winter they've caused, the two agents set out to stop Constantine and right the wrong they've done. However, when they aren't arguing amongst themselves, Rick and Paul discover that in order to get to Casey, they need to go through his #2, feared assassin and bodyguard Mikael Edwards (Michael C Hall). A former mercenary and torture expert, Edwards plans to make sure the agents fail in their quest to save the world from nuclear holocaust. As the two CIA men trail Constantine and Edwards across Europe, they garner the attention and eventual aid of French Secret Service agent Claire LeBlanc (Clemence Posey). As the newly formed trio venture into the eventual showdown with their nefarious enemies, Rick begins to develop a romantic attachment to the mysterious Claire, and as the clock ticks down towards the eventual demise of the human population, the two agents who seem to be the cause of the apocalypse are all that stands in the way of a madman.

Ryan Gosling..............Alex:: An unpredictable guy in his late 20s, who will do absolutely anything for the person he believes saved his life (his sister Catie) and hates his father but is easily susceptible to the effection he gives him upon his return. Has a very violent side when it comes to protecting those he loves.
Claire Danes..............Catie:: Sister and the key part of Alex's life and the rock he has relied on his entire life. The story revolves around Alex's relationship with her throughout and how they grew up closer than most brothers and sisters would ever, and don't really fight but share a very special bond (no, no incest). Married to Andras with a daughter, and despises everything her father is for things that happened to her as a child.
Hulk Hogan...............Father:: Disgusting human being who is the father of Alex and Catie. Was a drunken abusive bastard who drove his wife to suicide before driving Catie to run away with Alex one night. Comes back into Alex's life in his mid twenties sober, but pulls Alex into the crime world with him and begins to ruin his life more and more just as he did when he was a kid.
Idris Elba...................D'Angelo:: A level just below Andras at the advertising agency, where he managed to get in just to keep tabs on Andras/Catie in the first place. Is the communication guy between Jacob and Alex/his father, and eventually develops a sense of friendship with Alex (while begrudgingly doing what he must with his father)
Ralph Fiennes...........Jacob:: A ruthless crime boss in the city of St. Louis, and has a certain amount of control over Alex's father that comes back to bite him and everyone else in the ass.
Christian Bale............Andras:: A Welsh that is a bit flamboyant and annoying, but loves Catie and cares for Alex. Is married to Catie and produced a daughter with her, and gave Alex his job at the advertising agency he is an executive at. A fairly small part without any effective scenes, except Bale gets to show his Welsh accent.
Patton Oswalt...........Man:: Was a young kid when Alex and Catie met him in the shelter, and eventually Alex is forced to target him in the future for angering Jacob. Is a kind and decent man, which is shown in his only scene.
Alison Brie................Rebecca:: Dated Alex in his mid twenties for a little while, and doesn't really have much notable otherwise. There is a scene not listed in the plot summary with her bare backside shown. Loves Alex but is eventually shut out of his life once his father comes back in.
Emily Blunt................Mother:: Only a bit part, as she is shown broken, depressed, and beaten down as the mother of Alex and Catie in the flashbacks before their father comes home. She is a kind woman overwhelmed by what her husband has become, and is no longer able to handle it at a certain point.
Summary
The film centers on Alex (Ryan Gosling) and his relationship with his sister Catie (Claire Danes) and father (Hulk Hogan) in both the present day and past presented with flashbacks. Beginning with Alex sitting alone in a dank funeral parlor staring at a casket in front of him for several minutes (which is later revealed to be his father’s casket), before being asked to leave by the funeral director (Abe Vigoda). Alex obliges, and the film flashes back to a time when Alex (8 years old) and Catie (11 years old) were children (child actors not terribly important), eating dinner with their mother (Emily Blunt). Their mother looks broken and distraught, which is amplified when the father comes home drunk late one night (a CGI’d young Hulk Hogan). After the significant abuse their mother takes, Alex cuddles up to Catie in their shared bedroom and cries.
Flashback to the present, Alex is eating in a dinner when he meets a mysterious black man (Idris Elba) he recognizes for a brief period, when the man gives him a photo of an unidentified man (Patton Oswalt) that Alex recognizes. After finishing his coffee, Alex goes to see Catie, who lives with her Welsh husband Andras (Christian Bale) and their young daughter. Catie confronts Alex about seeing their father’s funeral after what he did to them, and Alex apologizes and mentions how he needed it for closure. Throughout this scene, it is established how close they really are as Alex plays with his niece and speaks with his brother-in-law whom he clearly doesn’t care for but appears to tolerate. After saying sorry again and hugging his sister goodbye, he goes to the pictured man’s home and waits for him there.
As he waits, we get another flashback of them as children, around three years later, when their drunken father hits Catie and blames her for their mother killing herself. After Alex again sees it and begins crying, Catie takes him by the hand late in the night and they run away to a shelter. They are welcomed in and bunked with a child version of the man in the photo. Back to the present, Alex and the man have a long conversation about their times in that shelter (where Catie was forced to protect Alex on a daily basis), and the man brings up that he knows about Alex’s father. Alex smirks, until brings up Catie again and then mentions a man named Jacob. Alex’s look turns stone cold, and after the man begs for his life for several moments, Alex says “I’m sorry” and slashes his throat.
Quick flashback to a scene with Alex around 18 years old, as he lives with his college bound sister who comes home one night with a bruise on her arm (presumably from a boyfriend). An enraged Alex sees the next day at Catie’s college speaking with friends, when he charges up to him and quickly breaks his arm before throwing him down a flight of stairs. In the present, Alex meets with Andras in his office when the mysterious black man again appears (this time identified as D’Angelo), a co-worker that Andras is oblivious to the existing relationship he and Alex have. Andras gives Alex a schedule of upcoming events to prepare for, making it clear that Alex works for Andras. Alex meets up with D’Angelo in an empty stairwell in the building, where they talk about Jacob (later to be identified as Ralph Fiennes). D’Angelo tells him more of the work Jacob did with his father, and they stress further how dangerous he is.
Flashback to approximately three years prior, when Alex and his pretty girlfriend Rebecca (Alison Brie) are on a double date with Andras and Catie. After some dubious chatter establishing each character, Alex spots something out of his eye and gets up abruptly. Alex walks out the door and sees his father walking along with D’Angelo, who was already working with Andras at the time. Alex confronted his father, who appeared sober and wanted to apologize for everything he had done in the past. Alex stoically refuses to accept it, before his father gives him address and asks him to please come see him. A few days later in that timeline, Alex goes to see him and there is some sense of bonding and forgiveness that he allows himself in. After a few hours, his father receives a phone call from D’Angelo who is loudly heard mentioning the name Jacob, and leaves.
Present day Alex is seen standing outside of a house, where a man (Jacob) is seen eating dinner with his family and he stares ominously at him until Jacob notices him. Jacob comes outside, and both men keep their hands in their pockets as they both seem to be carrying a gun. Jacob mentions that he needs to be careful or he’ll end up like his father, and Alex just laughs him off and tells him that their “relationship” is over. Jacob mentions Catie this time, which sends Alex off the rails until Jacob points out the numerous guards he has that can kill Alex at any moment’s notice. Alex walks off begrudgingly, and calls his sister to make sure she’s okay.
Flashback to just a few months prior, when Alex appears to be deep into the same type of trouble (without the addiction) that his dad was in prior. Alex and his father work in a pair, and his father brings up how he has tried to contact Catie. Alex tells him to stay away from her, and threatens him further. At that point, D’Angelo relays them a signal and they go inside, taking care of business for Jacob. Numerous random mentions of his father doing this to Alex are brought up before and after this scene, and Alex appears to be broken by the work he’s doing.
A few days later in the present, D’Angelo warns Alex that Jacob is after his sister, and he needs to get her away immediately. Alex tells her he isn't handling things very well with their father's passing, and asks if he can stay with Catie for a week or so while he figures things out, and she obliges. During this time, D’Angelo goes missing, and numerous reports of heinous crimes (the type Jacob works on) are headlining the news. Alex goes out of their apartment late one night when he sees a familiar car, and the car drives off but not before leaving Alex with a picture of Alex standing above his bloody father.
Flashback to Catie meeting Alex at their usual spot (a beautiful boardwalk covering a river, which they are seen at earlier as kids and a bunch of other times but this is long enough as is). Catie breaks down and tells him that their father has been trying to see her and physically grasped her in an intimidating manner a few days prior, which prompts Alex to run to where his father lives immediately. Alex confronts his father, who demands that he wants to see Catie and appears to be drunk again, and Alex beats him to a bloody pulp, which causes his father to go into cardiac arrest and die. Alex stands over him breathing heavy and walks away.
After a few more days of watchdog, Alex is lured away for a late meeting with D’Angelo. When he goes to meet him, Alex sees D’Angelo dead in a pool of blood which sends Alex immediately rushing to call his sister. When there’s no answer, Alex drives in typical movie angry driving fashion, and rushes into his sisters apartment only to see Catie, Andras, and their little girl in a massive pool of blood. Alex cradles his sister and niece before breaking down and loudly screaming, and running out before the police come in a few minutes later. Wearing his sister’s blood on his white shirt and jeans, he charges in for a confrontation with Jacob and kills his six guards around his home. With Jacob’s family nearby, Alex disarms him and points a gun at his head as Jacob tells him how ****** he will be if he shoots him, and that he can get out now if that is what he really wants. Alex doesn’t appear to hesitate, so Jacob begs for his life and to understand with his family in tow. Alex cries and pulls the trigger, killing Jacob before staring at his wife and walking off.
After getting away from the police, Alex sits alone in a minor disguise late at night on that boardwalk, breaking down for a final time as the credits roll.

SYNOPSIS
Set in the tumultuous post-war 1920’s, the inner suburbs of Sydney are rife with gan warfare, prostitution, illegal grog houses and dangerous drug use. The ‘Razor Gangs’ who control the city’s underworld during the era are placed in a difficult position when the violent war between the two ‘vice queen’ (Portman and Wilde) erupts following the murder of one of Tilly Fraser’s (Portman) top girls. Embroiled in the violent war are members of New South Wales fledgling police force (Arterton, Pepper, Bell) who are tasked with the difficult challenge of policing prominent figures including ‘Big Jim’ Fraser (Hardy), Wally Tomlinson (DiCaprio), Charly Brancastisano (Mortensen) and Franky ‘The Little Gunman’ Green (Affleck).
With the straight razor being the primary weapon of choice, one thing is guaranteed – The streets of Sydney are destined for blood. Nobody is immune to the Razor Gangs.

Natalie Portman as Tilly Fraser – Fraser is the infamous brothel madam who has seized control of the inner eastern suburbs of Sydney. She arrived in Sydney as a war bride after WWII with husband James Fraser. The ex-London prostitute returned to her trade and worked her way up to owning a string of brothels in inner Sydney. Fraser is known for her quick wit, sharp tongue and even sharper knives and razors. Dubbed ‘The Queen of the Night’, Fraser is one lady who shouldn’t be messed with.
Tom Hardy as James Fraser – The husband and enforcer of the Fraser brothel empire. ‘Big Jim’ makes his living as a standover man, sly grogger and drug dealer within the Fraser organisation. Acts as a middle man between gang warfare and the brothel sector.
Olivia Wilde as Kate Lehman – Kate’s troubled past began with a stint in jail to protect her no-good ex-husband Charles. Her life dramatically changed when she started a career in the sly-grog trade. Specialising in after-houses booze halls, prostitution, illegal gambling and drugs, Kate became the top challenger to Fraser’s throne as ‘Queen of the Night’.
Leonardo DiCaprio as Walter Tomlinson – Tomlinson is Kate’s boyfriend and primary means of getting ‘dirty’ work done. He has a tumultuous relationship with other figure heads of the era including James Fraser. His business know how and keen sense of a ‘good deal’ was crucial to Lehman’s ascent.
Amanda Seyfried as Nellie James – James is a notorious up and coming prostitute, embroiled in the world of fast living, alcohol and drugs. She struggles to live a normal life in an extremely violent environment.
Casey Affleck as Franky ‘The Little Gunman’ Green – Green is a notorious gangster, criminal and ‘gun-for-hire’. Preferring to work in the shadows, Green was the man to see when you wanted someone eliminated.
Viggo Mortensen as Charles Brancastisano – Was Kate Lehman’s first husband and the current leader of the ‘Slicers’ – the razor gang controlling much of the turf in the city of Sydney.
Barry Pepper as Sergeant Thomas Wickham – Leader of NSW’s first drug squad unit charged with patrolling the Fraser and Lehman dynasties.
Gemma Arterton as Lillian Armfield and Jamie Bell as Billy Mackay – Worked below Wickham as two of Sydney’s youngest, most promising police officers.
