Florida State OT Andrew Datko Reportedly Declares for Draft

Florida State OT Andrew Datko has reportedly given up on trying to get another year of eligibility through a medical redshirt and will enter the 2012 draft. Apparently, the NFL has accepted his application.
A solid RT type if he is completely recovered from his injury. A very interesting follow at the combine.

Datko seems like a pure left tackle at this point; he played there in college and his athleticism is his greatest attribute. The knock on Datko would be core strength, as he looks like a strict zone blocking scheme candidate.

The knock on Datko will be his shoulder injury history. If he was healthy he'd have been a Top 50 prospect, but by 22 he has severe shoulder concerns that will only get worse as the intensity increases in the NFL. I'd be amazed if he lasts 3 years.

If he checks out medically than he will be a top 50 pick. He is a way better player/prospect than Zebrie Sanders.
