Clyde along with the other lame duck 2011 Indy coaches should be canned. We saw w/out Manning that Christensen could not adapt the offense to work with the people we had. Granted it was Painter and Olov, but still the production was crummy.

Ha, a guy I know posted a status saying how Pagano was a terrible choice and the Colts shouldn't have fired Caldwell, defending Caldwell as a "good coach". Needless to say, I ranted on him over that one. So what does he reply with...? "Well I wasn't familiar with Caldwell anyway" ...*****, why talk about **** you don't know, and then admit it when your called out on it?!?

So you're saying Nick Foles will be #1 overall and Andrew Luck will fall to 23rd?

How many times have we seen the Ravens defense survive losing a coordinator? I'm sure they'll be fine.

As to the Colts, I think it's a great hire and he can build a solid defense to go with Luck and Manning. He's set up for success.

I'll admit Pagano was not my first choice. I wanted Zimmer. But Zim must be a real asshole because his name keeps floating around but nobody wants to give him a shot. The more I hear about Pags the more I like him.

I don't expect anywhere near a complete conversion to a 3-4. However, I do expect to see Robert Mathis re-sign because he is apparently very excited about the new HC. And I expect to see guys like him, Freeney, and Mathis used more creatively.

I expect us to draft Alameda Ta'amu to play the Ngata role in the new defense. Him and Nevis at DT should be nasty. Note that I am not saying Ta'amu will be as good as Ngata, just that he'd have a similar role.

Any chance the Colts take on any Baltimore free agents? Webb is restricted so probably not him. Maybe Ben Grubbs? Balt just paid Yanda a big chunk and they need to re-sign Ray Rice. Can they afford Grubbs too?

A lot of that is because they had stability with Lewis and Reed. Eventually will come to an end, and the constant raiding will hurt them.

Colts are finally making some good moves in regards to their defense. Maybe we will see the end of their defense playing ***** football.

I'm not sure if that 5 letter word starts with a b or a p but either way that "pansy" defensive philosophy left with Bill Polian. The Colts of the next 5 years are not going to look anything like the last 13. Hopefully that will be a positive thing. It'll be hard to not see #18 taking snaps out there though.

You're getting Andrew Luck and a coach/FO who actually cares about defense.

It's going to feel really weird when the Colts finally get away from the tiny defense style. They've been consistently the same for like ten years.

Yea BP's obsession with tiny dancers... I mean defenders, will be out and Pagano will likely bring in some aggressive guys with a mean streak.

Should be interesting to see what he does with the DL. I'm sure he will love Freeney (and Mathis if they retain him) I think Neves will have a spot in his D but I think there may be some considerable turnover at most of the other positions.

Most of all would like to see them abandon their cover two scheme. Although I think that as crappy as the defense has been... it really suites a team that plays with the lead a lot. So I don't know if it will happen but I just don't see it being Chuck's style.

http://www.baltimoregridironreport.c...agano-to-indy/

Just another thought, might see some players follow Chuck to Indy (25 possible FA). I could see Zibi as a major possibility.

JJ is most likely gone for the Ravens as well but I see him heading to the Jets who will overpay for him to add a pass rusher.

Redding might be available and willing to follow but I think it would depend on how drastically Chuck wants to change the system.

Now the Colts have both OC Bruce Arians and LBers coach Keith Butler from the Steelers. I think Irsay and Pagano are serious in making this team compete for multiple championships again with Luck at the helm.

His loss then I guess. Maybe he wants to stay just a position coach for another 5 years before he gets another shot at a DC position. Plus the Steelers defense is aging and the Colts are an upstarting team with a vision for greatness with Andrew Luck but I guess he doesnt want to be a part of that.

The Steelers and Butler have a 'handshake agreement' that he will become the DC once Lebeau retires. I'd rather work with the resources in Pittsburgh and continue building upon what's there now than start anew under a defensive minded head coach. Especially if Pagano falters, it will look bad on the defensive staff that includes Butler. Plus he would have to alter (even if the slightest) the scheme he's been so successful running. I think the safer move was to stay where he is now and hold on to whatever that agreement is worth.

Jesus dude. Things are looking good, but let's refrain from lining the Colts up for multiple Super Bowls and "greatness".

Im just looking at this as an age factor. The Colts are rebuilding now, and the Steelers are due for rebuilding sooner rather than later. Bringing in the best QB prospect in over a decade and a great defensive minded HC will give this team a great chance at mutiple postseason appearances.

Trust me man I've watched this team for years and we've had a pathetic excuse for a coaching staff. Now I feel confident we have hired the right people on the staff and at GM. Polian was losing his touch drafting players over the last 5 years or so.
