If Liam was bad, then it was the directors fault. There are certain actors who have been so excellent for so long that you KNOW when they just ran into a director who didnt know how to use them, and Neeson is one of those actors.
I've heard nothing but good things outside of Diab, so I doubt it.
Neeson was great per the usual but the ending felt like a cop out. I also expected more action than was provided. It was decent but nothing I'd recommend or want to watch again. It's definitely not Taken or even Unknown.
how could you make 3 spider-man movies though and not have Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom as your three villains though? Seems obvious. If not Venom then Lizard at least. Sounds like Raimi was just being a sore ass that he couldn't do what he wanted and everyone lost. The Venom/black suit storyline is so easy to do well and they just totally blew it.
I think it's just about making everyone happy. Here is a good review of the film. This blogger does good reviews in general, although he tends to focus on Superhero films:

You all really overrate it. It isn't that great at all. Also, Die Hard guy would completely get owned by Jason Bourne. The "terrorists" he fought were all incompetent and low skill.
Jason Bourne is trained to fight other highly skilled guys.
The cunning and resourcefulness of McClain would give him an advantage in certain scenarios.
How do you beat a well trained army? Guerrilla tactics....
