Alfonzo Dennard as a FS?
Does anybody else think that Alfonzo Dennard could end up as a better FS prospect than CB prospect? Everything I've seen and heard about him, especially when I watched the Senior Bowl practices, leads me to believe that he won't be a very good CB in the NFL. It seems that unless he gets a good jam at the line of scrimmage, he is pretty easy to beat deep. Also, I've heard people say that he's really most effective when he keeps the play in front of him. This leads me to think that he's more of a FS prospect than a CB prospect. He's got the size at 5'10 and 203 lbs to make the move (plus he's really built), and if I were running a team, I'd seriously consider asking him about his willingness to move to FS when I interview him. If he's receptive to the idea, than I'd have to watch more tape to see how he tackles and plays in space. If he can do those things, than I think I'd have to consider taking him as a potential FS somewhere in the 2nd round (I don't think he goes in the 1st). We've seen other players make the move from college CB to NFL FS and have success (Antrel Rolle, Malcolm Jenkins, and Michael Huff come to mind), so my question is, does anyone else think Dennard could be the next to make the move and be successful? If I'm crazy, let me know...I'm just voicing something that I was thinking about today. Thanks.
