Default WR Tommy Streeter [Miami]

With all the buzz circling around Stephen Hill and his incredible combine to go along with limited production and route running, I am wondering why Tommy Streeter is not getting more love.

Can someone give me a scouting report on Streeter and why he might be so different from Stephen Hill?

Where do you think he will go after the combine?

I've heard that Streeter never looked like a 4.3 player for the 'Canes. I still think he ends up being overdrafted because of his size/speed however.

I think Streeter will go higher than expected but Mayock says he checked his tape on Streeter and even in his best games , he didn't look impressive or stand out. He is strictly a one horse pony right now as a deep threat, he cannot run a route to save his life,

Can he improve, obviously some team will think so and go after him probably in rounds 2/3. Reminds me a lot of how they viewed Torrey Smith.

I watched every game he's played this year. Before the combine, I thought he was going to be a major steal as a 3rd-4th rounder. Now I think he's more of a 2nd-3rd guy.

He's a matchup nightmare. I don't think he plays 4.4 fast, but he's got serious build up speed, and has the size/body control to win on deep balls. He works the middle better than you'd expect too. He's had some issues winning when challenged at the line too, because like I said, most of his explosiveness comes after he's got some build up. Also doesn't use his hands particularly well against tight coverage. Also lets the ball get into him too often, which leads to a few too many drops.

I've compared him pretty frequently to Malcolm Floyd.

I don't get the didn't show speed stuff, he was constantly running past people this year and his timed speed has been well documented for the past few years. He's not a very natural receiver and is still raw, but his deep speed is definitely legitimate.

Streeter had to deal with Jacory Harris as his quarterback, who is one of the worst I've seen in the college game.

Streeter has speed (clearly), but he had no clue how to be a receiver at the collegiate level and he looked terrible running routes at the combine. He'll be drafted purely as a project with the hopes that he can develop.

Chris Henry would be the comparison if you asked me. I really wanted him to go to BC, but he decided to stay in Miami. I don't think you can accurately project any Miami player that's come out over the last 5-7 years, though. The teams are usually loaded with raw talent that doesn't manifest on the field for whatever reason. Whether those guys can get it together at the next level while being so behind developmentally is a straight up gamble.

He's very raw but he has a lot of upside. I think he ends up in the 2nd or 3rd but he's not a guy that you want starting right away. He mostly ran fly routes at Miami so he's gonna have to work on his route running.

him and Stephen Hill boosted their stock very well these past weeks.
Both of which are sure fire second rounders with a ton of value each.
Malcolm Floyd is an excellent comparison for Streeter

Floyd was undrafted in 2004. I think Streeter is closer to that than being drafted in the second round. The mid-point between those two locations is the top of Round 5. I'll vote he is drafted after that point, but it will be very close.

i didn't really like how Streeter looked at the combine. While running routes he seemed as if he didn't care, and would run them lazily, not putting forth full effort.

But maybe that was just me...

He's a guy i'd see as a developmental WR with a ton of talent. It's hard to evaluate him because Miami's QB situation last year was horrendous, so his film is tough to grade him on.

I'm not 100% sold on combine numbers either. They determine athleticism, not as much as football skills. Too me, if you show up at the combine and the production in the skills matches your production on tape, you did an excellent job.

Streeter should be drafted no earlier than late 3rd/early 4th.

People realize he had 800 yards and 8 TDs on a team that ran it more than passed it right? Also Jacory was top 20 in QB eff completing over 65% with single digit INTs. I guess nobody watched Miami last year.
