I'm not saying it wasn't "dirty," it just wasn't dirty.
There is some accountability for Voracek here.

However you want to frame it, it still doesn't change the fact of my original point.

....I dont get your original point...
the one rule that applies to every sport, keep your head up.
clearly he wasn't following it and Krownwall hit him.
Why should he stop and fight another guy because the other dude was an idiot and skating looking at the ice?

It's not just this time. Kronwall has NEVER dropped the gloves. Ever. And he throws some of the biggest, and sometimes dirty, hits in the game. If you're gonna throw hits like that, be prepared to back it up, not show your flaming vagina like always. And if you're on the ice, you don't have time to sit on a computer and watch 5 replays to deem the hit clean or dirty.
In other news, the Sharks are still ******* terrible.

Your definition of dirty is very...murky.
Why should he drop gloves and take the 5 mins for a clean legal hit? (It was)

There is no point in continuing this. I've said all I need to say.

In other news, Blues Goatending is incredible....
Brian Elliott: 20-8, 1.63 GAA, .937 SV%
Jaroslav Halak: 22-10, 1.89 GAA, .926 SV%
Blues are on pace to break the record for Goals against in an 82-game season, set by the New Jersey Devils in 2004 with 164 goals against. And with a little luck could break the all-time record set in 1968 by the Blues who allowed 157 goals in 76 games.
Oh also, Pietrangelo for Norris!

So I'm a little confused as to how the draft lottery works. From what I understand, teams that don't make the playoffs are entered in the lottery and can move up a maximum of 4 spots. Can someone elaborate on exactly how it works?

Urk. Misposted.
Although the last place team has a 48% chance of keeping the top pick, the last place team has retained their pick around 30% of the time.

Why does clean hitting have to equate to fighting?
People get upset too often for legitimate, self-made hits. It's not Kronwall's fault the hit was so vicious. If Voracek had been remotely aware of his surroundings, he could have avoided it or braced for contact.
I think this obviously is more an issue of "I hate the Red Wings" propaganda that Jensen always rants on about.

Have you guys ever played hockey before? It's easy to sit in front of a computer screen and tell if a hit is clean or not. If you're somebody's teammate and you see him get lit up with an obvious hit to the head, you don't have time to think to yourself "well maybe it was clean?" Schenn was being the perfect teammmate in that situation while Kronwall yet again fails to answer the bell. Emelin does the same thing. One day I hope somebody says **** the instigator and pounds these guys into the ice.
Yes, this is exactly what this about. Jesus you are ******* stupid sometimes.

Philly can respond however it wants, but many of their players have been quoted as saying it was a clean hit. So why is Kronwall obligated, in your eyes, to fight? That makes no sense.
You say Kronwall should take a 5 minute fighting penalty because Voracek got himself injured? And yes, I put the blame on Voracek. NHL has said Kronwall won't be suspended this morning. Obviously they don't view it as dirty.
I could throw your parting insult at me right back at you, you know. Evidence is on my side.

I played hockey, and there's no way I ever go sitting 5 minutes in a penalty box just because some dude didn't like my hit.

I'm done. We have different views on hockey and I'm tired of posting and automatically getting into an argument with the same people everytime. This thread is boring anyhow with all of the people that have left. SuperMcgee is the only one keeping it alive and interesting.

Yes, each team has different odds on winning the lottery based on where they finished(with last place having the best odds at around 48%). Balls are entered into the lottery based on those chances and one ball is drawn. That team then moves up a maximum of 4 spots from their original standing in the draft order or in the event the last place team wins they retain 1st overall.

In other new Stamkos has 28 goals in his last 32 games. Geno, Giroux, Lundqvist, Karlsson are all having great years but Stammer has now pulled even with Geno for the scoring title(granted Malkin's missed a few games) but I think it's safe to say he's the new front runner for the Hart. Last player to win the Hart on a non playoff team was Lemieux in 87-88.

I still think malkin is the odds on favorite to win the hart (keeping as much homerism as possible aside). My only reasoning for this is the point you brought up at the end. Generally players on non playoff teams do not win the hart trophy (not going to look up how many have). Now if stamkos can somehow get the lightning into the playoffs then he damn sure better win it because a month or two ago tampa was sitting at the bottom of the division. That is quite a turn around and even though I feel malkin is still owed the hart trophy from when ovechkin won it over him 3-4 years ago if stamkos gets his team into the playoffs then its his for the taking.

Oh, what the ****.
NHL will consider adding the two-line pass rule again under the new CBA.
Senselessly stupid.

I think to slow down the game and avoid big hits across the neutral zone.
Would be terrible.
