And the Packers did not franchise Flynn...so the second domino in the QB carousel has been set up.

I was just telling a friend the other day I thought Washington should make the move for RG3. I still think this was a no brainer, although I was surprised they gave up two future 1st's. Not that it was a bad move at all, I like it. But that is a lot.
It is worth it though. For the first time in a while, I am excited about watching some Skins games!

you all got your franchise QB. you should be happy, regardless of how many cuts you now have to make. in 3-5 years when you're back to normal with the cap, Griffin will be ready to resign a mega contract and you can sign a high caliber WR and RB

dont care what any other fan base is saying. im loving the trade for rg3 and signing garcon. its all about matchups now a days and i think we can get royal and garcon in great match ups out there. add in fred davis. passing attack should be improved alot if they all gel together.

im with you crit. i love the garcon pick up. typical bashers will say the skins "overpaid" but i honestly feel like we got him for market value at worse. hes only 25 and will be able to grow with rg3. i would have liked a guy like vjax but not for 11-12m a year. sounds like morgans deal is supposedly only 5yrs/12m total which is perfectly fine by me and i assume royals would be even cheaper than that. young receivers forced to compete.

The last I saw was that Royal signed for 2 years $12M which is pretty pricey. I'm OK with the the other WR deals but that means Gaffney/Moss are gone, IMO. Adjusting the WR core to match up with RGIII's skills in the deep passing game.

I like the people saying the Bucs got a good deal on Vjax for 12m a year compared to Garcons 8.25m a year...What am I missing here...
VJax 29yrs, BEST season in his entire career 68 rec, 1150 yds, 9 tds...QB Philip Rivers...
Garcon 25yrs, coming off 70 rec, 947 yds, 6 tds...QB Dan Orlovsky...
Yea sounds like they got a real steal...

I'm with you. I have no idea why people are thinking that way.
I'm not sure all these FA/trades will work but DAMN is it going to be exciting to be a Redskin fan next season.

Did we overpay our new WR's? Probably, but you take what the market bares. I don't think this is like the past where we overpaid one over the hill player as a "final piece". Skins obviously thought Jackson didn't fit their direction or may have had to adjust their plans with the cap news yesterday. Instead they got three young guys who will have to earn their spot through competition.
To people bashing the skins they just don't get it. We gave away a lot to get griffin so how else were we gonna give him weapons immediately? This tells me they may not be a fan of the mid round wr class and probably have their eye on some offensive lineman and secondary players.

I hope this means we keep Santana. I believe Manningham will come in but I hope we don't sign him, not that he wouldn't be a welcomed addition but i don't want him at the price tag he'll demand, plus he's too similar to Garcon. He has speed and obviously can make big plays but he can't run routes and has inconsistent hands, he also doesn't have great size, hopefully we stay away and save that money for O-line and DB's. I'm meh on Merriweather signing but at least it's a contract i can digest, i wish we'd take a look at Haruki Nakamura, can we please let go of Doughty!!! Unlikely though as he's probably starter :(. I really really really want Eric Winston here but it's unlikely. There are quite a few guys I'd like to bring in. I'd like to bring in Aaron Ross despite his injury problems, if we can get him affordable Manny Lawson would be a great addition and let Kerrigan go on the line more. Jim Leonhard could easily replace Doughty and be better. I also wouldn't mind a run at Ginn so we can finally dispose of Banks who i do love but is kind of a waste of roster space because he can't' do kick coverage or play WR.

I really liked what I saw from Gomes last year and hope he gets more of a chance than Reed does. I'm not crazy about Merriweather either but similar to what you mentioned, I can live with the contract compared to what Landry wants/thinks he deserves. At least Merriweather doesn't have a history of injuries a page long.
I have no interest in Manningham at this point and would much rather focus on bringing in someone on the offensive line. I want to draft OL in the mid rounds also though. Guys that I'm interested in would be Demetrius Bell (RT), Geoff Schwartz (OT/OG), Anthony Collins (RT), Eric Winston (OT), Evan Mathis (OG), Vernon Carey (RT), and Jake Scott (OG).
Not much out there at CB sadly...

Ross would be a solid addition. Merriweather signing is fine. He's still relatively young too which is one thing that ShanAllen does very well.
Need to resign London IMO. Without him I don't think this team's ceiling is the playoffs.
I don't care if we turn away Moss or Royal. I like Garcon a lot and we have a lot of young guys at WR that we can develop and give chances too. Paul/Hank/AA/Austin...at least 1-2 of them will have solid careers IMO.
Also, Banks is a waste of a roster spot...get him out.
