No. Can't see him making it past NYG at 32 to be honest. Even with his **** storm of an off season though, I'd take Orson at 55.

Im not a fan of Orson at all, just seems to me like a Winslow type guy with a bad attitude. His pro day times were horrible despite conditions. He didnt run in Indy which was concerning and his recent DUI doesnt look good either. Not a fan of his at all. He seems more like a slot/H back than a pure TE and in this offense we need a TE who can block as well.

He can't block and he can't catch. I really don't want us to get Orson Charles. The only reason why he's considered the second best TE is because he caught like 45 passes and looks strong physically. Truthfully his QB threw the ball to him like 300 times and he barely caught some.

I'll give you his blocking but the other stuff is just not true. They were games when he wouldn't even get a pass thrown to him.

Not an impressive sign, he's pretty much a depth player. I hope they don't expect him to start at RG.

Can't say I'm impressed at all by anything we've done during the offseason.
Re-signing mediocre players, signing mediocre players, overpaying for a CB, and not ponying up for a guy who played 99% of our defensive snaps last season.
99%.
Only thing that would salvage hope for me is obviously a Mario Williams signing.

Pretty upset to see Abraham and Lofton go. Lofton was the only one who panned out from that highly-touted draft class we had and acquiring Abraham was one of the best moves we've ever made. Lord only knows where our defense would have been without him.

Seriously. Imagine our pass rush without Abe. Wow. Oh that's right, we'll get to see that next year! Fear the rotation of Edwards, Biermann, Sidbury, and Matthews!

Buffalo is apparently offering to make Mario Williams the highest paid defender in the league right now. After visiting the Bills, Mario is set to visit three other teams, Falcons are most likely one of them.

When the Falcons don't make the playoffs this year, it's time for Dimitroff (and possibly Smith) to go.

Harry Douglas is just so average to me. I'd be extremely surprised if he became an actual threat, even in this new offense.

He is so average. And so are DeCoud and Biermann. But why cheaply replace their production when you can reward mediocrity?

If we dont throw the house at Mario this defense is ******. Already losing our only pass rush and center piece of the D. Hope Nolan knows that hes doing.

um... Matt Ryan? Thomas Decoud? Harry Douglas? Kroy Biermann? That was a pretty solid draft all around really, 4 starters and 2 very important depth guys. If you can draft 4 starters every year you are looking at an excellent drafting record.

I really don't want to be negative since there's still so much time for things to happen, but damn. Unless Matt Ryan becomes a top 5 QB, is there really any hope for this team?
-Another year on Turner and Gonzalez
-Massive downgrades at MLB and RE
Center play should be similar whether McClure is brought back cheaply or Hawley takes over, and I'll call Manuwai at RG an upgrade because it'd be nearly impossible to get worse than what we put out there last year.
I'm a huge Mike Nolan fan and think he will definitely help, but man. That same cast of characters - Abe and Curtis? (Possibly the addition of a 2nd rounder). Not doing him any favors.
The one move I'm kind of expecting is Kendall Langford. I think we're going to look to do something similar to what Seattle does with their front when they've got Mebane, Branch and Red Bryant (at LE) on the field with Clemons coming off the edge.
Mebane is Babs like, but Branch is a 330 pounder while Peters is probably 3 bills.

Whoops, was thinking about the JA, Blalock, Houston draft.

what more can you ask for buddy? The FO has done everything they could, right now they just ran out of money to pay a guy big bucks. It's not their fault Dunta and Edward are not paying off. They have spent the money when they had the money. Right now the only upgrade we have is Mike Nolan, unfortunately it won't be enough if we don't have the talent.

I'm actually not too unhappy with the Douglas deal. I believe it was 4 years/10 mil.

Yes, but he's mediocre (at best) at a very deep position. At least DeCoud could be justified by the S spot being a **** hole in the NFL. We could have easily replaced Douglas with a mid rounder.
