Miami media saying that something is in the works and to be patient, so we'll see the reason behind trading him soon....

takes chicago out of the wallace running :-(
that would be the lowest pick i would want for him aside from the rams and browns. this makes it look more likely that wallace will be a bengal/raven/patriot/niner

Didnt they trade for him for 2 2nds? So they downgraded picks and got rid of their one WR that was above average. It has to be Peyton.

I'm guessing it has something to do with Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne.

After his pro bowl showing, I think he could have been worth more than 2 3rd round picks.

Nice deal for Miami. Regardless of who Miami's next quarterback is, I'm not sure putting up with the headache is worth it. Bears fans should be excited as well.

Ugh, why do people have to say this dumb **** every time. Marshall put up 1200 yards and 6 TDs, that's his point.
Do undeserving players get to the Pro Bowl? Yes, we all know that. Marshall had a good year though so there's no reason that needs to be said.

They were never in that running. We wouldnt trade the #19 and have to pay him.

He was referring to his pro bowl showing, not the fact that he got in the pro bowl. It is a joke, its glorified flag football with half ass coverage. That was clearly not his point, where in there did he refer to Marshall's season?

i was just kinda looking at WR needy teams, wallace is the youngest of the WRs available and cutler has the arm to get him the ball deep, seemed like a good fit, and rather than draft a WR they could have had wallace who is already established.
just wishful thinking

He's talking about his actual pro bowl performance, which he's right is completely and 100% meaningless.

According to this, the Bears had $23.5 million in cap space. Brandon Marshall will make $9.3 million next year. That takes them down to $12.2 million, which is less than Williams alone will get in his first year. Plus they'll still have to sign draft picks and probably will pick up a few free agents. Unless they have some big money players they can cut, Mario Williams aint happening. I'd much rather add Brandon Marshall to the division than Mario.
|
I don't think this takes us out of the Williams running. I mean.....it's really, really easy to create cap space and structure contracts in a way to maintain it. Not to mention, I'm not too sure that 23.5 mill is accurate. I've read we were pushing 30 million. If the Bears want Mario, I don't think it will be a problem to pay him, it's just a matter of how willing we are to meet his demands.
Also.....23.5-9.3 = 14.2

Miami loses 2 2nd rounders for him and Chicago is going to lose their sanity.

Does that include Matt Forte's franchise tag of 7.7 million?

Damn it. In my head I was factoring in a possible contract extension and I left out the fact that he was already tagged. So that 23 mill number makes a lot more sense. My point stands though.
Regardless, it sounds like Mario is probably a Bill, which makes sense to me. I think we go after Kam Wimbley.
