i think there's a point where everyone else notices some stuff is broken in the process. though i'm not sure being a renegade implies that you're good at lying, just that you're a sociopath.

Something else that bugs me are the death toll numbers given for Earth. Earth has 11 billion people at the time the games are taking place. The best totals you get from the game are "2 million dead the first day, 7 million in the first week."
So Shepard has been out and about in the galaxy for at least a week.....and let's say that 7 million is a good average.
Well, an estimated 60 million people died in World War II. Out of a world population of about 2.3 billion.
Shepard would have had to have been out in the galaxy for 8 or 9 weeks at the 7 million people a week average for the Reapers to have killed more people that died in WWII, and there were even more than 4x as many people on the earth to kill.
The Reapers were less efficient at killing people on earth than the Axis powers.

you'd think they'd have just built a death star and been done with it.

Well, the Reapers did want to harvest humans to create more reapers as explained in 2, so obliteration wasn't preferred as none of the other races were "suitable" according to Harbinger in 2.
But you'd still think that nigh invincible killing machines millions of years old with technology beyond out understanding would be able to do a little bit more damage than 1940s people with conventional weapons.

i dunno, there were like, thousands of other colonies. how many people do they really need to turn into liquid? a couple of weak colonies seemed to do it in 2.

Well, the collectors took "tens of thousands" of colonists in 2 and used them to create about half a reaper. So I imagine it's going to take quite a few to make a new fleet of them.
The reapers still seem pretty grossly inefficient for as much as they're feared.

don't disagree. it seems like once you're not in a spaceship getting shot down, they weren't that big a deal. sort of like the one you kill from a tiny cliff ledge.

Just finished Mass Effect 3. Am I the only one here who didn't mind the ending? I interpreted it to be the Reapers attempting to control Shepard inside of the beam, with the "control the Reapers" basically turning Shepard into someone like the Illusive Man, the "join organics and synthetics" being what Saren tried to do, and then "destroy the Reapers" being the way for Shepard to "resist" (which is why they showed Captain Anderson performing that during the cutscene.) The Reapers try to appeal to Shepard's emotions by speaking through the child and draw Shepard towards one of the "controlled" endings by showing the Illusive Man's option as the blue (or Paragon) choice and the "resist" option as red (Renegade.) The beam which represents Saren's path was also bright and enticing.

See, this is your interpretation. You don't mind your own interpretation. The problem is that 10 different people can make 10 different interpretations but you really have to stretch it to make one that makes sense.
For a series that was so extremely well written and offered many choices and had you develop relationships with so many people in the game, the ending was sudden, choppy and infinitely confusing. That's not to mention the lack of closure or the feeling that everything you did was for naught. "Oh, you liberated the Quarian homeworld and made peace with the Geth? Too bad they won't make it back there with the relays gone and all..."
Also, I found this which is an interesting read:

made peace with the Geth? What you talking about the Geth wanted to join the reapers since it was logical. And then the Quarians destroyed them. Man I wanted Legion so bad, but I guess Tali needed a homeworld.
Also side note who did you guys end up having sex with?

Well, I made peace between them...
As for the sleeping around, I went Ashley, Miranda, Miranda in the 3 games. This time, as fem Shep, I'm going with Liara, Kelly (possibly Liara in the DLC?) and then presumably Liara again.

How did you bang Miranda in 3? I tried so hard and I couldn't. Was it in the commons?
I got with only Liara for some reason, couldn't get with anyone else, I wanted to try the reporter.

Miranda was in the apt on the bottom floor of the citadel during like the 3rd interaction with her. (1st time at docking area, 2nd through video/holo at specter office, 3rd in apt area)You had to have banged her in the 2nd game and then answered that they still had a relationship in the first conversation.

The sex scene with Tali was a total letdown. They made Ashley and Liara all sexy then I don't even get a scene with Tali I mean seriously.

If paragon or renegade is high enough legion sacrifices himself to rewrite the code so that the geth can " think for themselves" and then you warn the quarian fleet not to attack and BAM both allies.

agreed. i hated the mobilization thing related to online play, but it would've been cool if you'd messed up enough (or just not gotten enough support) that the universe basically ended. the option to lose earth alone just didn't have any impact, given that i was never bloody there.
