well now I want J-stew super badly.
I guess the niners are just trying to copy our success by poaching our FA's in MM and Jacobs

Then why did they re-sign Alex Smith?

So the 49ers are going to get rid of Anthony Dixon now? Cause I thought he was a steal for them in the 2010 draft.

And for every play like you you find, there are 10 where he's standing straight up and gets brought down by the first defender to touch him.

That Jacobs might not exist anymore. The thing with Jacobs is he has great speed for someone that size but the worst acceleration in the world. Once he gets going, he's a monster. However as our O-line aged, the holes weren't gaping anymore and he danced to too much. The 49ers have a better line but I dunno if that Jacobs exists anymore.

Brandon Jacobs is so overrated...Bradshaw runs so much harder than him. I wouldn't be surprised if Jacobs was cut prior to the season. This draft has some pretty good RBs that can be picked up in the 3rd/4th rounds and the 49ers have a pretty solid roster with no real holes so if a BPA was available and it happened to be a running back I could see Jacobs getting kicked to the side of the road.

Oh, I'm not disputing that. I know he's the "top heavy/easily blown over" type.

Good riddings to a "Professional" like Jacobs. Throws his helmet at fans, randomly curses at a coach after the game like a moron, tries to brawl with a rookie in a preseason game, verbally attacks the media and whines about the amount of carries he gets. The definition of class.
He is the Jeremy Shockey of RB. All talk and showboating, and runs East/West rather than be a big boy and run with passion. Easily my most hated player in the NFL.

which is why i'm surprised he didn't sign with the jets, would've fit in well.

He wanted to be a Jet despite no Jets fan wanting him and his "beef" with Rex Ryan and the team. That's how much of a dog he is....I would have more respect for him if he stood by his words and not consider the Jets.
So glad I don't have to hear more from the then most classless player in NY anymore. :)

I think his wife just didn't want to move.
You won't have to hear from the most classless player but we'll all have to continue listening to the most classless and idiotic coach.

And he still went down on that contact anyway. Granted, Landry got the worse end, but that didn't even allow him to break it for another 5 yards...

BBD. Be happy for me.
Adam Caplan @caplannfl
Got the impression, even without him saying it, that Smith is expecting Nolan to be much more aggressive.
Adam Caplan @caplannfl
So if you're a #Falcons fan, you should be excited to see what Nolan will do on defense this season.
Adam Caplan @caplannfl
Also on the Falcons D, Smith indicated there will be some differences from years past in 3rd down packages with personnel etc with Nolan.

Nolan can call the defense as aggressively as he wants, I just don't think he'll have the personnel to pull it off well.

Nolan creates pressure. His blitz packages the 2nd half of last season were amazing.

Ah yes, I forgot that Ray Edwards turned into Cam Wake upon his hiring.

I know you recall how many times we'd go with a 3 man rush (when we can't get enough pressure with 4) and just let teams pick us apart. I'll take the change, even if we get killed. At least this way we might make a play or two instead of getting picked apart. Remember that one game where we kept joking how 3rd and anything was a guaranteed 1st for the Saints? I'd like that to stop.

I'm a really big fan of Mike Nolan as a DC, I think the man is a genius. Really great pressure packages and while he operates mostly out of the 3-4, I'm excited to see what he does with some nice pieces in Atlanta in the 4-3. I can see them targeting an Elephant type LB in the mid rounds to bring in as a situational rusher from the strong side, would be very Mike Nolan-esque.
