But coaches coach and players play, and your players from last year kind of suck overall. The personnel you have do not fit a Nolan defense, and even if he hybrids the **** out of it, I don't see any drastic improvement.

We'll see. While I'd tend to agree, as I pointed out a couple pages back, this offseason screams the players were here, the coordinators weren't putting them in positions to succeed.


I'm not expecting to have a great defense. I just expect Nolan to be good at making it look a lot better than it is until the proper pieces get in place.

I'd be slightly surprised if Brandon Jacobs was on the final roster. He is way too soft for his size and opens his mouth way too much for a back up. At least in SF no one will listen to him so he will maybe shut up.

Hard to see Jacobs making the roster when he doesn't have the jam to play special teams.

Dixon should be taking this as a shot over the bow. If he doesn't learn to pick up the blitz, the next shot is going to sink him.

If the offensive line gets a good push so he never ever gets hit in the backfield before he's got momentum, ever, Jacobs can be useful. He's a great blocker still, his stone hands have become not terrible, and can get some momentum going if you leave him with a massive hole to stumble through...

Jacobs from 07-08 was a beast.

Jacobs from 2010-2011....not so much.

I'm always love the guy though. He embodied our smash mouth offense for a good 4 year period. He's a true Giant.

He's no longer a good player. But the Jacobs of 07-08 was a beast. When he got going he was hard to stop. People can say whatever they want about him, but you saw how players avoided tackling him (Ask Mike Jenkins) and how he effected PA pass.

And he never got enough credit for his blocking ability. The dude was basically another linemen when he stayed in to block.

I think he makes the roster. We had no use for dixon on offense last season.
