Just finished "Enders Game." Thought it was excellent until the ending on the colony and stuff. I'll read the other books now, but I'm not as excited for them as I was when I was still reading about battle school

Just read the Lincoln Lawyer (again) in preperation to go see the movie. All Michael Connelly's books are good.

Ender's Game is my favorite book of all time and I'll tell you: you won't enjoy any of the sequels as much as you enjoyed the first book.

I'd recommend reading Ender's Shadow, which is the same story told in the perspective of Bean. It's a really good read and it still focuses a lot on Battle School.

I agree here that Michael Connelly is a damn good writer! Chandlers books are terrific as well, I recently read "the long goodbye"and that was one of the best books I have read. Im currently reading all the award winners (edgars awards) and have found other authors that have genuine talent.

Had to read this during sophomore year of high school, easily my favorite book of all time. I couldn't put it down. Like already mention, the sequels aren't that good and are really just trying to hard and get way to complex and annoying to read. The book about Bean is solid because it's the most similar in story to Endor's Gamee but the others like "Shadow of the Hegemon" or whatever it's called is just dumb. You'll stop reading after the first chapter.

Ender's Game is still epic though. I wish they made a high budget movie about it. If they got a quality director to put the time and money into making the film, i'm sure it would be a blockbuster.

I hate having to learn about Shakespeare and if I ever become and english teacher I'll do my best to avoid it.

I've always seen it as...those are plays not literature. You're reading a script.

Have you studied English, ever? Shakespeare is far and away one of the greatest contributors to literature in the history of human civilization. So, so, SO much of contemporary literature and literary theory draws so heavily from Shakespeare...suggesting it isn't literature is beyond naive. I'm an English major with a sound distaste for drama and poetry, and even I acknowledge how important Shakespeare is to the literary canon.

I'm an english major as well and I enjoy Shakespeare's plays..Macbeth and Julius Caesar being 2 of my faves...just hate having to go through em in every class. Idk why but I have a huge bias against Shakespeare in my english classes, maybe it because it seems a few of my teachers and professors have tried to shove it down my throat and I hate that.

I am reading "Onward" by Howard Schultz. It's interesting to see how he turned a small coffee shop that had a couple of local stores in Seattle to a 40 billion dollar business.
