1. Wait til the draft plays out

2. Ryan Tannehill+Bess+Hartline minus the only good receiver they had probably won't equal first year success in Miami

It is but Luck and Tannehill will be in similar situations on **** teams and I'll take Luck over Tanny as would anyone, and RGIII will be in a better situation than Tannehill and I would take him over Tanny regardless as would anyone. Tannehill has the potential to be good and who knows he could shock everyone and go off as a rookie but I don't see it happening, especially not in Miami. If he goes somewhere with more to work with then it could happen but I can't see him being ROY since he's still very raw.

Don,

Nothin' wrong with that just a light hearted prediction.

YayaeRB,

With 20 of 22 starters returning it'll be tough to see playing time.

For offense its either gonna be RG3 or Richardson. RGIII could because he will be on a decent team and playing in the NFC East will give him a great opportunity to show off some flash plays to the nation. Richardson will just be a good RB and will perform well. QB's get the glory on this spot though.

Defense really depends on where the player goes.

I like Richardson a lot. It's tough to side with RG3 when I know he's going to a division rival.

Thing is, it could have a lot to do with what other rookies a team drafts.

Luck is going to the worst team in the NFL. Has a declining Reggie Wayne as his number one receiver. Pierre Garcon isn't even there anymore. He has no run game, no tight end, and a very mediocre (being generous) offensive line. If there's a player Luck really compares to in the NFL, he's probably a rich-man's Matt Ryan. But when Matt Ryan went to Atlanta, he inherited a pretty good defense, a pretty good O-line, and he had Michael Turner behind him and Roddy White in front of him. Luck just doesn't have that in Indy right now. That team is just utterly devoid of talent, so we could be looking at a rough first year. People expect that to turn out alright because of how prepared Luck is - the thought is that he's "pro-ready" already, so he can take a down season like a vet, and the team will continue building around him. But the situation in Indy really isn't looking good for producing a ROY. Remember, the biggest thing about Indy's collapse this year was the fact that it really put in perspective how good Peyton Manning is. Don't think Luck can really be considered a frontrunner for ROY for that reason. Has nothing to do with whether Indy should pick him - they should. But that team is so bad, you just can't expect him to explode in his first year.

Robert Griffin's situation is a bit more appealing. He's going to a team with a legitimate defense, a pretty good O-line, the Shanahan run game, and a few free agent wideouts to throw to, as well as two very good tight ends. That's a situation which will allow a team to protect their QB with other facets of their game, yet Robert Griffin is dynamic enough to make plays on his own (a la Cam Newton), but has more weapons than Luck, which will inflate his stats, at least comparatively speaking; he's going to get a lot more statistical help from his playmakers than Luck will.

Trent Richardson, if he goes to the Browns, will go to a team with a good offensive line, and that's about all that you need to think about with a rookie running back. His success isn't going to be so intertwined with his team's W/L ratio, even if he has a lot to do with it. He's going to be running behind the line that made Peyton Hillis a 1000-yard rusher recently. No one thinks Peyton Hillis is a better running back than Richardson, and with the continued development of that team, which is young, I really don't think it's a stretch to say Richardson could rush for 1400 yards his rookie season. Think about what Holmgren did with Shaun Alexander. Richardson is waaaaay better than Shaun Alexander. This Browns team is schematically fairly similar to those Seahawks teams, and I think as you see the development of players like Greg little and lead-blocking talent Owen Marecic, the offense will be opening up anyways, and putting an elite talent like Richardson on that offense sounds like a recipe for ROY to me, if not team success as well.

Then there's Tannehill. I don't like the idea of him going to Miami, because he needs a top-line QB coach, and the organization doesn't have a very good rep right now. BUT! Their new head coach is Joe Philbin, who as an OC simultaneously turned Aaron Rodgers into an elite QB while raising questions about whether his success as more to do with his ability or the system he plays in. Tannehill is a bit better athlete than Rodgers, but obviously isn't close to being a finished product. But he picked things up extremely quickly in college, so I think a cautious optimism isn't unwarranted. Reggie Bush came on in a big way last year, and especially if Daniel Thomas can provide some consistent power, having Reggie Bush to take short passes and checkdowns could be really helpful for his development. This is another team with a decent defense and a pretty good offensive line, but he's got no receivers to throw to. Anthany Fasano is a decent tight end, but not special. Bess is a good receiver, but not a guy you want to throw jump balls to. Tannehill would probably have an alright first year in Miami, but to call him a preseason ROY candidate, you'd probably have to see Miami land Alshon Jeffrey or somebody in round 2.

I fear that with Colt McCoy at the helm teams would just stack the box against T-Rich and he could mightily struggle or even get hurt. That's the nervous pessimist in me talking, because nothing goes ******* right the Browns.

If we address the right side of our offensive line, I will feel better about it.

There's a little pessimist in all of us. Surprised no one has mentioned Blackmon.

Offense is going to be decided among the QBs strictly because of their importance and immediate playing time. I like RGIII because hes going to have flashier plays on a better team.

No one really touched on defense for obvious reasons but I'll nominate Kuechly as my early favorite. The pass rushers lack an elite talent in this drft compared to past winners. Defensive backs havent produced a winner since Woodson. Odds are in my favor.

Luke Kuechly already has the DROY locked up. Coby Fleener will have a huge rookie season but Luck is going to win that award because he plays a much more important position.
