Chiefs re-sign CB Travis Daniels.I like this he may bot be a superstar but he's a solid #3 CB and with Manning & Rivers in the AFCW you can never have to many CB's

He is a solid veteran presence at CB. You won't hear me complaining.

Daniels was pretty darn good last year and he's a guy I've always liked. Fits perfectly in this defense and is a veteran presence in the secondary.

Its like our DE/OLB situation. Yet mock continue to give us DEs.

DE is a need for the Chiefs, that's probably why. Dorsey is on his last year of his rookie deal and I'd be surprised to see him get re-signed. Tyson Jackson will need to restructure or he's gone too. There is no way they're paying him $14m next year.
OLB isn't a need, but DE is about to be a huge one.

If Dorsey and Jackson both walk, I will be surprised, but that would be an issue. Assuming only one moves on, we are well situated.

Are we? Amon Gordon isn't a long term answer and Allen Bailey might be a great situational guy, but we don't know if he's starter material yet. Brandon Bair is a physical freak type of guy, but he is in no way a starter.
We're not set at this position at all, not even close.

And Gordon is more of a backup NT and NT/DE tweener for the Chiefs anyway. He's solid in that role, but they'd have some trouble if they lost both Dorsey and Jackson. I'd be on board with drafting Brockers. He's a good player at one of the most valuable positions in that defense.

I don't like Brockers. Great run defender, lacks a pass rush. That's Jackson.

Potential changes to the above:
A 9th OL is probably smart because of how young their current depth is. To accommodate this, Washington could be cut with Menzie serving as more of a combo-DB.
I couldn't pick between Miller and Greenwood for the last LB spot. While they don't really need Miller with Sheffield and Studebaker, he's an amazing athlete and either he or Studebaker could also play inside if asked to do so.
6 receivers might be too many, but I don't like Copper as more than a special teams player and I am probably just being optimistic with Hemingway there.
Long could very well beat out Bair or be good enough to warrant an 8th DL spot.
The battle between Powe and Gordon for opening day starter at NT should be interesting. Gordon was pretty solid as Gregg's backup in 2011, but Powe was a stud prospect for the position at one point.

We all already knew that, didn't we? I didn't expect Gilberry to be back at least.

I'd sign Atogwe, but Clark is on his last legs.

Atogwe would be a really nice piece to the defense. Especially with guys coming back from injuries.

I don't see a place for him with Moeaki coming back and the signing of Boss. Seems too crowded.

Yeah, the 53-man roster is pretty much set. There's a place for Atogwe because Kyle McCarthy really isn't all that proven, but there's no place on this team for Clark. The Chiefs have a nice balance between Boss & Moeaki as far as TEs who can catch passes or stay in and block and they have Steve Maneri as the straight-up blocking TE.
