I think ESPN should bring Skip Bayless into their draft coverage.

Please God. Don't let Bayless ruin my draft weekend. If he shows up I'm off to NFLN.

I'm thinking about gathering the proper ingredients to drink a few real Sazerac cocktails.... While I'm having a few of those, I will definitely make brownies and homemade salsa.
I just moved to Minnesota so I don't know anyone in the area, and refuse to head to a bar in my Brown's attire and then have to explain I'm a Browns fan from Green Bay Packer territory... So home with Salsa, Brownies, and Sazeracs, my new tradition.

I have a midterm in a class that's usually 5:30 to 9, but I usually get this particular professor's exams done in an hour and a half or so. I just hope he doesn't take over an hour to review before we take it because it's a difficult class. But as soon as I'm done, I'll pick up some wings or something on my way home and just chill by myself. Might watch it with my dad. None of my friends are into the draft like I am.
Edit: Oh yeah, if I'm out of Guinness by Thursday, I'll stock up.

Went to the draft the year Jake Long was the first pick, stayed in line until 8 am after being out there since 11 the night before. Buddies I was with couldnt stand it any longer so we went home, exhausted from the traveling and beer we missed the first 45 picks. I dont recommend sitting out there in line.
Grab a comfortable seat with a laptop (ipad in my case) and some beverage, and go from there.

^^ GOING to the draft is one of the worst ideas in the world and the worst possible way to spend draft day.

It was an amazing weekend when I went. 2004 with a media pass. That was the way to go. Too bad they don't offer media passes to internet press anymore. Or so they say...

Especially if you're anti-NY or easily annoyed by lack of draft knowledge.

I like being on the sofa with the lap top watching... Don't like to drink when watching. Also I wish they never changed it from Sat/Sun... I live in LA and remember getting up at 7 to watch and just spending all day with the TV and football fans. It was like super bowl Sunday in April.

The mere mention of his name in a post is like pulling a grenade pin, setting it down on the table & leaving the room........

Maybe you have to be there... but I just don't see it.

I can't explain it. I can never explain it. I've gone every year with my dad since I was 12. It's just tradition at this point, and I love it.

Oh I think bringing Bayless in for the draft would be terrible. But if ESPN did it would I be surprised? Absolutely not. ESPN doesn't care about giving draft fans a good product. They care about ratings and money. That is why they only talk about first round picks after round four while ignoring all the late round picks. That is why during the entire time the Jets are on the clock, they won't talk about the previous pick or whom the Jets might take but spend 10 minutes discussing Tebow. And that is why I would not bat an eye if Bayless made an appearance Thursday night.

I normally take the draft day off, using a vacation day, but the only other person that works first shift with me is off having surgery. So I will get out of work at 5pm & hurry home to start getting ready. Will have sweat pants on, beer in mini-fridge, laptop next to me on TV tray, lazy boy recliner, 46" LCD on ESPN....also a bowl or two of White Widow.

I was originally going to be stuck recording the draft on DVR while I was in class, but our professor announced that class is cancelled on Thursday. I wanted to hug him.
Now I will be perched in front of the TV with laptop, live chat, Twitter, and my big board. A steak and baked potato will make its way into the room at some point...

That is false. Every avid draft fan should go at least once, its a great experience. Going once is all you need though, its not worth it after that.

I've never been to NYC, so I figure I'll kill two birds with one stone and plan a draft-week vacation someday. I'll wait until the Packers suck, and have some high picks.
