He could very well fall past #5. I don't see it happening, but it's not impossible.

Kalil will be a Viking. Don't be fooled by last minute smokescreens.

You take a stud receiver over a LT ten times out of ten.
Floyd will help the rams way more than Kalil will. If Floyd or Blackmon were at ten I would take both of em over Kalil.
Floyd is one of the most athletic Wr's ive ever seen.
Great hands can out jump any corner in the NFL. Hes just as good as Fitzgerald coming out and he went top 5.

how well did the vikings do with Mcknnie and Hutchinson. Only with Favre did they ever do good.
Lt is the most overated postion in the NFL.
DE,Corner,WR and safety are more important.
Buddy Nix says you can find good LT's in the later rounds and he ahs already done that with Chris hairston.
Taking Kalil at 3 is a mistake when you could have Blackmon or Claiborne

If Claiborne and Richardson are off the board I think Kalil is a very good chance of becoming a Buccaneer. We've had him in for a pre-draft workout, so we are definitely prepared for the possibility he is available.

Richardson won't be off the board and he's the guy for Tampa. Browns front office is to ********, no way they don't take Tannehill at 4.

Plan and simple, the Rams take him at #6. They need a left tackle and would wet their pants if Kalil was there.

Wrong. They don't need a Left Tackle, they could use a backup Right Tackle just in case something happens to Jason Smith again.

The hell does that have to do with anything? Birk was a center and Mckinnie wasn't good. And their not going to take a QB. So thanks for the irrelevant information champ.

Tell me you are drunk. Saffold was awful last year and is a better right tackle and Jason Smith is a better guard. Although he is made of glass and is a total bust given where he was drafted.

Mckinnie was a good tackle in his prime. Im saying a stud LT is meaningless when you have more glaring needs.
The browns are a laughing stock with Thomas. The dolhins are a joke with Jake Long.
Having an elite LT doesnt win you games.
Take the Wr or CB

Saffold was bad at bigger Defensive Ends that had a nice bull rush, because his technique was bad, he didn't use his hands properly. I think he showed in 2010 that he's more than capable of playing Left Tackle in the nfl. Rams new Offensive Line coach Paul Boudreau has already talked about him and Smith needing to have better technique. The coaching prior to Fisher getting there was bad.

Favre took them as far as Culpepper/Cunningham did. What that has to do with LT or WR is beyond me.

If the Rams drafted a real RT, Smith moves to OG.

Fair enough. But I still don't think they pass on him. Kalil is at worst a Jeff Backus clone. Not flashy, but could start for you at LT for 12 years. I just don't see the Rams saying no, if he is there. I'm sorry Rams fan. I know you want a "cool" player, but Kalil won't get past you.

It means LT is no longer more important than wr and cb
Claiborne,Blackmon or Floyd are much better choices

The Browns and Dolphins are also without a QB. The QB is the main part. It's hard to get both an elite tackle and an top QB. If you could get both you'd definitely be winning games. The teams who have elite tackles usually got them because they missed out on taking a QB(Browns and Thomas vs Russel, though in hindsight that worked out great for them) or took the tackle instead of a QB(Dolphins and Long vs Ryan). You can say that having an elite LT doesn't win you games, but neither does a WR or CB. Calvin Johnson is an elite WR, but the Lions didn't win anything until Matthew Stafford developed. Larry Fitzgerald is an elite WR, but the only good years the Cardinals have had with him was when Warner was playing at a high level. Nnamdi Asomugha and the Raiders never won anything. Revis and the Jets have had some success, but with a QB probably would have played a couple Super Bowls already. Plus they have a darn good LT in Ferguson.
And the Vikings don't have more glaring needs. WR isn't even an option for them. Their secondary sucks, but so does their offensive line. Protecting Ponder is more important than adding a corner. They should be more concerned with keeping Ponder upright against Matthews/Raji, Peppers, Van Den Bosch/Suh/Fairly /Avril, than shutting down Johnson, Jennings, and Marshall. You have to do everything possible to let your QB develop. Shoring up the secondary helps them far less than fixing the offensive line.

Rams fans still think Jason Smith can be a good starter? Weird.
