louis nix isnt even a certainty to start, doubt hell go pro with 2 years and i dont think he is that high a pick when he is probably the worst starting DLineman for his own team.

I have him ranked over Star right now, even though I'll admit it's a big leap of faith.

He's a top 15 pick too IMO. I like Star a lot as well being unbiased (what???)

I love Barrett Jones. The fact he can play all 5 positions on the o-line at a high level is amazing. I hope he is drafted as an OT in the pros.
|
Barrett Jones' omission is sinful. All 4 of the other Alabama o-line front 5 are present, but no Jones.
Jones is the best of the lot, certainly the most versatile as he has played all 5 positions on the OL for the Tide, maybe their next Outland candidate. Could be a Franchise OLT for some team.
Jesse Williams, the Bama NT currently at DE, weighs like 305 with <2% body fat, a Polynesian from Australia & will be an NFL NT for a 3-4 team.

Depending on who comes out, this could be the strongest class of pass rushers in a while:
Jarvis Jones (UGA)
Sam Montgomery (LSU)
Tank Carradine (FSU)
Barkaveous Mingo (LSU)
Bjeorn Werner (FSU)
Jackson Jeffcoat (UT)
Brandon Jenkins (FSU)
Alex Okafor (UT)

corrected.
as of today, Gholston is the best prospect out of that group imo. best combo of size and athleticism by a mile.

I'd have to agree, Gholston is probably the most physically gifted pass rusher in the draft. But he's definitely not the cleanest. Based on potential, production, cleanliness and measurables, the guy that will top my list this year is Barkevious Mingo. Dude is just a terror off the edge with that speed. Just gotta get a little stronger at the point of attack.
Plus, you gotta love the name!

The bolded part i flat out do not believe. Given that pro cyclists have about 4-5% bodyfat and Lance Armstrong was exceptional with less than 4 i do not believe that there is any NFL player below 5% let along a 305 DLineman

Can't believe I forgot him.
But if the criteria is size and athleticism, I think Carradine is on par, or at least not a "mile" back. He gives up an inch or two, but he'll be show up to the combine 6'5, 270, chiseled, and run something stupid like high 4.6s. I think Carradine is more agile than Gholston. Biggest issue with him is rawness and the fact that he splits snaps with two other potential 1st/2nd rounders.

Just looking at him like this you can tell he's well above 2%. Wherever you heard that is lying.

Love Easley. Hopefully that explosiveness rebounds.

I sure hope so. Best get off I've ever seen in college. Same with Graham. Too many damn knee injuries to studs this last year in college football (Easley, Graham, Lattimore, Kniles, Hunter).

yeah I like Carradine a lot. He's from Cincinnati and coming out of high school, if he didn't have such terrible grades, he would've been offered by and signed with Ohio State. He is very raw but probably has the most potential out of all the speed rushers in this class.
I still like Gholston a lot more b/c he 's more polished and at 6'7"/275 he moves better than Quinton Coples did and has a more consistent motor. I really feel like he'll be a top 10 pick and probably the first DE selected right now. I think he'll explode for a 10 sack type season this year as a junior.

Alec Ogletree, 6-3 236, kid could be an elite inside linebacker and have a standout year for the Dawgs. Love his size and athletic ability, could arguably play inside in a 3/4 or 4/3, or outside in a 3/4 or a 4/3. Has so much potential, has big time first round potential.

I agree, he really came on strong at the end of last season. With that size and speed, he could be a very big time talent when it is all said and done.

I'm tellin you guys....Sheldon Richardson is going to shoot up draft boards, he had a good season last year, first year at Mizzou. I expect big things from him this year, and he's a great athlete, I'm expecting a 4.75 in the forty, or lower.

Did Michael Dyer get a hardship waiver? I can't imagine him entering the draft if he's not allowed to play this year.

My #1 LB prospect. I actually think I had him as the first defensive player drafted in my way too early, mostly guess work mock draft. He's a stud, he can do it all. Better than Kuechly this year. His performance against Michigan State in the bowl game was just stellar. That whole Georgia defense is going to be amazing. They're my early pick for National Champions.

Not sure he is better than Kuechly, sure might be athletically but hard to argue with Kuechly's production on a much less talented defense than Georgia. As for Georgia being National Champs, no way I see that, especially not in that division where even Vandy will be pretty good. I see them losing too much on the offensive line and they will hurt a little with Rambo's early season suspension as well. Will be in the hunt though of course but really doubt they become National Champs. But Jarvis Jones and Ogletree and arguably the two most talented linebackers on any one roster in America though.

I'm really excited about all of the front seven players in this draft: Devin Taylor, William Gholston, Sam Montgomery, Manti Te'o, Barkevious Mingo, Jarvis Jones, etc. This should be a fun year.

Being a Chiefs fan, of course I'll be watching QB's but the main position of interest for me is ILB. With Belcher only having a one-year tender and Siler as the back-up, the Chiefs need a ILB for the future. They always could re-sign Belcher long term but I think he would be best as the back-up in time.
Seems like this will be a strong class for ILB's as well which is a plus.
