Wish him the best. Goff was a solid LB.

Yup, I liked him. But I think we have our Lbs, and now let's see how they develop and what happens.

You can still root for us when we play the Falcons. No one will think anything less of you! : P

What about when Jayron Hosley covers Danny Coale?
I might explode.

Who says it would be J.H. covering him? It all depends, but we have Webster, and then T.T and Prince too. So it all depends on if Danny C is in the slot or the 4th guy if they go four wide. We still have all our Cbs that were hurt coming back. So it's going to be a big time battle for the rookie. And all that is for the 4th spot, because we have Cb depth. So you may not have to explode after all.

Hosley does have swag. If he puts it together, you guys will have an Asante Samuel type at corner.
His sophomore season was amazing. He just cashed it in after that season; he was ready for the league.

Does he tackle?
Does he gamble too much? Are we talking good Asante or bad Asante?

All of Asante.
During Hosley's sophomore season, he was a decent tackler. Did not pop people on contact, but got them down. Junior year, as I said he was looking out for the NFL and played scared.
He never got burnt in college on double moves or the like. He gambles but didn't take the risks Asante is associated with.
I can't really put enough emphasis on how well Hosley played during his sophomore season. He read the opposing players routes; at times, it seemed he was the receiver.
Overall, Hosley is an extremely gifted player with outstanding instincts, amazing quickness, and ball-skills on level with wide receivers. His frail build prevents him from being a top-notch tackler and his motor runs hot and cold. If he plays motivated, which he should on a rookie contract, you have a player who should have carried an early second round grade - he was pushed to you in round three due to his mediocre junior year and character concerns. Which tie in with one another, IMO.
All depends on what the coaching staff can get from him. Adding some weight would be a big boost for Hosley as well.

Additionally, I'm not sure if the Giants have a top-notch punt returner, but Hosley's quickness allows him to stick out there as well. Needs to be coached to not always look for the big play, but even with some negative returns Hosley posted 68 punt returns for 815 yards (12.0 average) and two touchdowns.
Couple of other tidbits... Hosley pulled in three interceptions in one game from Russell Wilson in 2011. Nine on the season.

Here's some bad Hosley this past season at 9:37:

Picks off Andrew Luck at 1:55; this is an example of it looking like him running the WR's route:

Should have had a pick six off of Luck later in that game.

Hosley will probably be the punt returned as long as he proves that he doesn't fumble the ball. That's the first thing we look for.

He's never had issues with that. The guy loves making plays with the ball.

This draft sure has made us more dynamic...now it's up to the OL to not suck it up.

Reese was just interviewed by Francesa and specifically mentioned Jackson and Martinek as UDFA's. Something to keep an eye on that perhaps they are the 2 the team is most high on.

The more I think about the more I start to think that the team has to think one of three things to be so comfortable with our OL and specifically OT situation.
1, Beatty has bulked up, is carrying it well and will stay healthy. 2, Sean Locklear is Kareem McKenzie re-incarnated ready to come in and lockdown the right side of our line for the next 5 years, he's been solid so far in his career but not stood out, in our scheme he's going to beast. Or 3, Brewer looks ready to take over at RT at some point this season, but since they have to give Beatty one last shot at the LT spot and still need to integrate Petrus into the lineup, they aren't ready for him to start from the get go, so through camp they'll have Locklear trying to hold off Brewer for the RT spot while Diehl pushes Beatty for the LT spot. That way Locklear has chemistry with Snee and his other linemates should he need to start on the right side if Beatty goes down again or lose his camp battle to David Diehl.
I know I'm just selling myself on the OL but I guess I don't feel so bad about
LT - Beatty/Diehl/Brewer/McCants
LG - Boothe/Petrus/Mosely
OC - Baas/Boothe/Petrus?
RG - Snee/Boothe/Mosely
RT - Diehl/Locklear/Brewer/McCants/Mosely
provided whoever it is that wins the starting spots stays healthy, injuries have crippled Beatty's career with us, nagging injuries to Baas disrupted our OL and made him ineffectual, nagging things have hampered Snee for the past few years, all I want from the OL is for the starters to just play the whole season together and gel.
I generally like how we're set up moving forward, Petrus is a god damn ox in the running game, Baas is a slightly better (more powerful) version of Shaun O'Hara when healthy, between Brewer, Beatty, Mosely and McCants I feel like we have one of them develop into a good starter, we still have Snee as the captain and leader and then we have our two versatile vets who are great examples for the young developmental guys we bring in as Boothe and Diehl's work ethic and professionalism have turned them into the versatile veterans they are today. I just get uneasy with the state of flux we're in on the outside of our line and hopefully it's the guys we have impressive Reese that makes him feel so differently about our OL.

It sucks that Hill went to the Jets because we're not going to be able to judge how good he really is. He's got 2 crappy QB's and a O. Coordinator that's going to be run first.

And the worst part is, if he does turn into a beast, we're gonna watch him every week wondering what if...
