The acting was fine I have no issue with that. The trailer however showed to the same extent the origin of their powers (nothing more was explained then what you saw in the trailer) and every cool part of them using their powers was shown as well minus one part. It showed you the main character had issues and cracked, and then obviously showed his snapping and rioting all over the town. All the action parts were seen in the trailer, the entire story was shown as well considering what I just said was pretty much the whole story (sure it obviously went more in depth with the character development than a trailer can but that should be obvious and it was not a super strong development of any of them either way). It just was ok, and again, I didn't get anything new out of it then what i already saw in the trailer. Explain to me what you didn't see in the trailer that was worth seeing in the theaters. Just from the trailer you got - a bunch of kids got powers, start using them for fun at first, one kid had issues, starts becoming more powerful, snaps and uses his powers to rob a gas station, fighting other friend with powers. That is literally the entire movie.

Never did it show him robbing a gas station, never did it show him fighting with his friends, and never did it show anything other than he's troubled. Seriously, you are being ridiculous. The entire plot of the movie is that his family issues have driven him to document his life, and he and his cousin (whom is barely his friend) and the most popular kid in school acquire powers by happening upon a whole. He becomes more powerful (which isn't really shown, again) and understands his powers better. He acquires new popularity eventually, but all that does is push his issues more to the surface. You literally described a series of scenes but nothing that has any direct tie to the point of a movie.
I'm going to say this, but you are 100 percent wrong. Completely and utterly wrong.
Literally just showed everything I listed. But I am so utterly wrong that the trailer didn't show the whole premise of the movie. Of course it isn't going to show him rise to popularity, like are you kidding me listing that as one of the major scenes of the movie?
Two scenes and then he wasn't popular again. He did magic at a talent show, he went to a party where people loved him for doing magic tricks. He proceeds to puke on a girl and popularity over. How is that some sort of major plot that was worth mentioning, it took up probably like 10 minutes of the movie at that.
The trailer didn't show the exact nature of his home life, other than that everything I listed was shown in those trailers and I could probably keep finding trailers that show everything I listed- I had to put it up with watching them every Sunday during commercial breaks from football, i recall it pretty damn well.
It's the same basic trailer as Cloverfield. Show tons of the scenes that make up the context of the movie, don't show the actual background or plot of the movie in general. How is that THE ENTIRE MOVIE?

First off, you previously told me that I was wrong asserting those scenes were in the trailer, so please eat crow because I could go on to post more trailers showing the same things I mentioned before- theyre all right there. Yes the story revolved around a kid who had difficult home life, I already gave you that. However the major premise of the movie was already there in the trailers I posted. Kids get powers by going into a hole, start using them for fun, get more powerful, one kid who has issues starts becoming more powerful, starts taking advantage of his abilities, fights with friends, leading to a big confrontation in the middle of a city. It's all right there where I posted it. Let's see what it left out
- had a difficult home life with his dad and ill mother
- wasn't super popular, pretty much ties with his **** life to begin with
-wants to be popular (but I mean who doesn't? do I even need to add that?)
I'm not really sure what else, but I am excluding that whole "popular" part, it last no longer than ten minutes before he went back to being unpopular.
So it basically highlighted and showed the major premises of the movie. You can sit here and point to the other parts of the movie like the kids back round and home life, but none of those scenes were particularly stand out to begin with so why even mention them? It isn't hard to play off of things like that and create a disfunctional character, it's been done weve seen it. The major points of the movie were all right there for you to see, and if you went in expecting any more out of those central points than you aren't getting much other than
his cousin impaling him with a sphere from a statue
I most certainly was not wrong with any of the points about the trailer.
I saw the trailer, and didn't get what I expected out of the movie. It reveals a decent amount of the movie fine, but so do plenty of other trailers. Here's what it neglects to mention (aka the entire emotional core of the ******* movie)...
Andrew is an outcast who desperately wants to be popular, and has a **** relationship with his father. His mother is ******, he has no friends really outside of his cousin (who doesn't really like him much) and he uses the camera as an escape. He forces himself to go to a party, where he meets his cousin and the most popular guy in school (who never even talks to him outside of that), where they go in the hole and get powers. Through this, Andrew bonds with his cousin and Steve/Vincent Howard, and actually feels like he has friends for once. Of course, his father continues to question him which slowly turns him darker (CAR ACCIDENT!) as their powers expand (which includes flying, as the trailer showed a micro second of), but his friends bring him back. Then, the magic show happens, and his popularity reaches an all time high before he throws up on random chick. He blames it on his friends a bit and becomes a withdrawn dick, increasing exponentially when his father finds some of the footage which causes him to lose it again. Then, he kills WALLACE on accident, which pushes him further and further until he fully loses it. At the end, after Matt kills him, Matt realizes he should have been there more for him in the first place.
So basically, the movie is about the rise and fall of his character in the first place. How getting those two as a friends made him feel like a person for once, and how everything fell apart largely because of his ****** father. The trailer shows a collection of scenes, NOT THE EMOTIONAL CORE.
These people are morons and their opinion doesn't matter.
This may be a female thing, because I hung out with three different girls who had not heard of Batman Begins when they mentioned loving The Dark Knight. So.....yeah (if you're wondering, I failed to date any of them).

It was more ok or meh than anything. If you saw the trailer, you saw the whole damn movie minus like one cool part the very end.
You see a lot of the cool action scenes, but you don't see the character progressions/arcs, or why we should or shouldn't care about the people involved in the story.

I think I already posted this earlier, but this was a pretty good synopsis of the film in terms of what to expect. It doesn't give anything away either. Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the movie.

Well it's not surprising a lot of folks had no clue about Batman Begins since The Dark Knight was such a smash hit. Unfortunate though. Some people are different though and will just watch a sequel to a movie without having seen the first one, even if they are closely connected. Movie buffs like myself, refuse to do that. So it depends.
