Panthers Rookie Numbers
Kuechly - 59
Silatolu - 61
Alexander - 90
Adams - 15
Norman - 24
Nortman - 8

Not a fan of 59 for Kuechly. Would have liked to see him get 55.

Ohh, I totally agree it'll end up available.
I kinda like 59 though. 55 scares me with our history with that number and injuries (Dan Morgan, Dan Connor).

He supposedly also received permission to put Griffin III on his jersey.

Full list of 49ers draft class:

LaMichael James, RB: 23
Joe Looney, OG: 66
Darius Fleming, OLB: 58
Trenton Robinson, S: 30
Jason Slowey, C: 62
Cam Johnson, OLB: 50
In other 49ers jersey number news, Mario Manningham will wear #14 with the Niners, at least temporarily (he might be trying to get #82 from TE Nate Byham), Brandon Jacobs will wear #45, Josh Johnson will wear #1, Perrish Cox #20, and Randy Moss #84.

Matt Kalil: now listed as 75 on Vikings website, but was holding a 67 jersey at press conference, and DeMarcus Love had 75.
Harrison Smith: 22
Josh Robinson: listed as 31 on Vikings website, but that's Chris Cook's number
Jarius Wright: 85. Kind of surprised he took Child's college number
Rhett Ellison: 40
Greg Childs: listed as 1 on Vikings website, but I'm assuming that's because all 11-19 numbers are currently taken, some by scrubs who won't make the team. 80 is retired for Cris Carter, 88 for Alan Page, and 81-89 are all taken except for 87.
Robert Blanton: listed as 36, but Brandon Burton also has that number.
Blair Walsh: 3
Audie Cole: 57
Trevor Guyton: 92
|
So, an update on some of this:
Matt Kalil: 75. Made a deal with DeMarcus Love.
Harrison Smith: 22
Josh Robinson: 31. Chris Cook switched to 20.
Jarius Wright: 1. All WR eligible numbers are apparently taken or retired, so he'll have to change once cuts are made.
Rhett Ellison: 40.
Greg Childs: 85
Robert Blanton: 36. Brandon Burton switched to 27.
Blair Walsh: 3
Audie Cole: 57
Trevor Guyton: 92

His reasoning for picking it was, "why not?"
Seemed like he wanted to be different. Only number in the 80s he could've picked was 85.

Yeah, 14 has to be one of the least used numbers for WRs. Only WRs I know wear it off the top of my head are Riley Cooper and Eric Weems.

i think David Wilson wants to switch to 22 (Antwuan Molden has it right now but i dont think he'll make it through camp). Id rather him keep 34 anyway it looks cooler.
