Just found a story about it and apparently my town decided to pass an ordinance saying you can't sell alcohol in a certain area of town after 11 PM. That part of town just happens to be the less wealthy part of town.

Without knowing anything else about the story, I'm guessing there's a disproportionate amount of alcohol related crime in the area.

Here you can't sell alcohol after 9pm. I thought that was pretty standard.

I highly, highly doubt that would matter if they took that to the court system. If the city only made it illegal in one part of town, and there isn't some sort of zoning structure that distinguishes the two parts as different cities, I'd sue the **** out of them if I were the owner of that establishment.


Edit: Apparently they're already doing that. Good for them, the city is absolutely screwing them over.
