He's been above .345 for the last year and a half, so there's nothing wrong with giving it a shot. And again, Berry does not even belong on a major league field.

Why? Why is it a millions times better? You love being argumentative about small points, so please do so here. Let's assume you put Peralta at leadoff and Berry at 8 or 9. That's a million times better why?

Because you're maximizing the run potential for the team. When a guy is on base more he can score more especially with hitters like Fielder and Cabrera behind him. If you think Berry can repeat his .360 OBP in the majors then fine but you call up a 27 year old and immediately put him in that spot when he has never proven he can hit major league pitching? I don't care if you're good at stealing when you're not base enough for it to matter.

At least we took the series before facing Verlander. I say he goes 8 IP 2 H 0 ER our only chance is if Masterson only gives up a run or two and our clutch hitting comes through against Detroit poor relief pitching.
I can dream.

The Indians have actually hit Verlander better than most historically, which isn't saying much. I think it dependson Masterson, who has not had the control this year that he had all of last year and on opening day.
definitely agree i'm glad we took the first two before having to face verlander though. not gonna be a win for us, haha.

I think it's fair to assume that Berry can get at least an OBP between .310-.320, which, as yo said, I'll trade .10-.20 points of OBP for someone that can move on the basepaths. Not everything is a direct correlation of .OPS and speed has to do with more than steals (and baserunning has to do with more than speed)
Maybe he's so atrocious that he won't even get that, but I don't think either of us has any clue yet.
It's not a great decision, no. But I don't think Peralta is the answer either. The Tigers are poorly built, like the Miami Heat, but with more of a team game.

no, you're a bandwagoner because you didn't go to all the team's games and pay $10 to drink bud light; true fans are the ones that turn going to a baseball game into a chore, hoping that the team will lose so they can talk about all those games they went to when the team wasn't good, and hang their perceived fan superiority over those who weren't idiots.

True fans are people who go to games. I'm going to promptly go back to not knowing who you are, because you're really ******* annoying.
