That's assuming playing in his hometown is particularly appealing to him. When he was growing up, the Wild weren't even a franchise.
Just sayin ... It's probably not as appealing as if he were a lifetime fan of an original six team or something.

The North Stars would have been around for a bit I suppose but that is entirely different.
At the end of the day, many players will go for the money. It's how it is in sports, its a business. The fact that he could be playing in his hometown is merely an incentive. Though you are right, we really don't know how much of a factor this is to him.

If Parise is a good Minnesotan boy like he oughta be then coming home should be the easy decision. The money should be pretty damn similar across the board.

Parise apparently loves living in New Jersey (insert NJ joke here) so I wouldn't completely rule out him returning to the Devils. I don't think they're going to be able to pay him though. The Rangers sure aren't shy of paying guys so I think they would be the front runner with Detroit trailing them. Then you have NJ, Minnesota, and maybe a team like Boston.

Do you think Parise fits in Torts system, though?

I agree. I don't think Parise comes to Pittsburgh. It's a dream of mine, though. He and Crosby together would impregnate every single woman in Western Pennsylvania. Hell, I'd even offer to give them blowjobs every night.

I honestly have no idea. (I'm a Devils fan). A couple of local sports guys seem to think he's a perfect fit but I don't know.

While I would love Parise and do want him, I don't get the other names being thrown around involving the Rangers. We don't need to go get Nash(who won't fit our system) or Semin if we can't get Parise. I certainly don't understand the people who think we need one of them because Gaborik got hurt. Gabby will be back and won't miss much. Besides, we need a goal scorer to pair with him, not to replace him.

Whats with the goals drying up... I don't follow closely or anything but it felt like the scoring early in the playoffs was epic and now teams can't buy a goal!

Going back to the Parise talk, there were reports that he and Suter want to sign together somewhere having played together when they were teenagers. If that's true (probably is, but not at all a lock to happen), Detroit is the likeliest, IMO.
