Just saw they are remaking It for the big screen. Gonna be hard to top Tim Curry as Pennywise but I'm kinda scared to think what they can do with that book and an R rating...

Probably just ruin it.

Yep. That one doesn't need to be remade...ever (none of these 80s remakes do). That movie is still scary as ****.

That and the modern idea of remake is:
Exec1: We should totally remake this iconic film since the youth when it came out are adults now!
Exec2: Brilliant idea! And the new youth will see it for the first time.
Exec1: And it is cheap! We dont have to hire new writers really, just up the blood and gore, change the gender or race of a few characters, change a few names and BAM brand new movie.

Yea, I'm kinda scared of that...apparently whoever is doing it is also redoing Pet Sematary too.

I'm pretty steamed about that one. Why would you ever remake It?

The ending was awful and it needed more of the 12 year olds taking turns on the only girl in the group, like the book had.

I never cared for the true form scene. But still, it's not going to get any better. I just can't see something with that same mood happening in a modern remake.

Did you not read the second part of what I said? All of the guys banging the 12 year old girl, IT HAS TO BE REMADE.

That is a horrible idea. I feel like every movie over the past few years is either a remake/reboot, based on a novel/true story, comedy or animated. It is so rare to actually find an original movie. Most "original" movies are either comedies, animated or waaaaaaaay too indie.

Great original movies are out there and not hard to find. They just don't get hyped as much and don't make as much money. The demand is there for **** movies because people are morons. **** like Transformers makes a billion dollars while films like Synecdoche New York make almost nothing and never gets talked about. Most people are dumb hence all the ****** vapid movies being made.

So I guess they're remaking Total Recall with Colin Farrell replacing Arnold.
And I agree that Safehouse was average. Denzel's movies always have high expectations.

This year really will be amazing. Looper will be better than Inception, new Tarantino and Wes Anderson films and the greatest living director gifting us with The Master not to mention the slew of great directors coming out with new movies.

Yea agreed. I was so pumped for Inception and every new Q movie because they're not the same as every other movie.

seriously, I almost had a stroke trying to figure out how the whole plot/conflict in Looper can work. Total paradox mind ****. Should be a great scifi thriller.

What was so terrible about it? I'm not doubting you, I was just considering watching it myself.

I'll start by saying the acting was decent despite the awful dialogue, and the visuals were solid.
The action was stupid and made no sense. There was zero plot, zero character development, and there was no reason for any part of the movie to have happened.
It was a really stupid movie. It was a boring movie. It was mindless mindlessness that didn't even have a lot of gratuitous action to go with the mindlessness.
This is coming from someone who:
-Didn't spend a dime to see the movie
-Doesn't watch trailers
-Has very low expectations going into every movie
-I don't predict "what will happen next" actively
Basically, I try to be the perfect movie watcher for the sake of my own enjoyment.
I wasn't disappointed with Prometheus because I go into every movie thinking it's going to be dog ****, but it would have been nice if it wasn't dog ****.
They spent hundreds of millions of dollars to make you sit through a **** movie so you could get to the horribly unsatisfying and passively predictable (meaning, you know what it'll be even if you're trying to watch the movie as a mindless drone) ending.
When the movie was over my girlfriend and I laughed and talked for a good hour about how terrible it was. We're both movie watchers and almost synchronously whispered at one point in the movie "this movie is sooo bad".
I'm likely to put it in the category with 10,000 BC, Alexander, and Day After Tomorrow as just ******* awful big budget movies.
