Apparently there are rumors of a Staal for Yandle+ trade. The plus would be a second this year and a third next year. That would be very tempting. He and Letang would be godly together.

I think Parise did play high school with Patrick Eaves, though, if Detroit press wants to run wild with that one. I don't doubt Detroit as a destination, but ZOMG Zack totes went to high school and ND with Drew Stafford! And his high school team was called Sabres! Mark it down!

I just spent far too much time watching YouTube videos of the Red Wings' 1997 and 1998 playoff runs.

15 year anniversary of their first Cup in 42 years today.

I really wish I could get my hands on the DVDs (or more likely a VHS copy) of the entire playoff run. I was only 8 years old when they won. Plus, Gary Thorne doing play-by-play is ungodly awesome.

I can see the puck at the end on the last view they show. My guess is Norfolk sold their soul for amazing forms of success this year.

But seeing goals like that is always lame. You just hope the stanchions don't decide to play a huge role in, oh, the AHL finals overtime or in double overtime of the deciding game of the Western Conference Finals.
