Gave up trash. It's only 3 years. weren't getting Dwight. Convince D-Will to stay. he can still play.
Honestly, money, age and talent wise, it might be better than Wallace's deal, sadly.
Also, where would D-Will/JJ rank among backcourts in the NBA?

That's not really a bad thing. Starting over with cap space and a bad team that will net you high draft picks has proven to work.
Teams that just get mid-level stars and can't win titles and can't get high draft picks are the worst types of teams. You know... like the Suns have been.

Apparently Marvin Williams was traded to Utah for Devin Harris. Another cap cutting move for ATL.

Is Josh Smith still going to be traded? Sounds like he won't be happy with all these trades.

No. They're gonna keep him.
Dwight is gonna join his best friend in their hometown of Atlanta.

There's still the whole issue of Smith and Horford playing the same position.

Why would the Jazz want Marvin Williams? Was Devin Harris really that terrible in Utah that they rather have Mo Williams and Marvin Williams?

I can't think of a better backcourt. Probably be #1.
But yeah... you weren't getting Dwight via trade.

Nets were baffled that Orlando GM Rob Henningan wasn't interested in dealing DH. Talks went absolutely nowhere.

They got Mo Williams for absolutely nothing, and Devin Harris was awful last year.

is it just me or is Atlanta the front runner for a Dwight deadline trade/free agent signing now? best friends with Smoove, they can offer Horford or trade him for a 2/3 if they get Dwight in FA. plus he's from Atlanta, so it seems to fit.
I still don't rule out Brooklyn offering some Lopez, Brooks, picks deadline package, but Orlando has better offers on the table. they also seem determined not to let Dwight have his way

Nah, I already mentioned this. Dwight is silly though... Bucher (who is often wrong) is also saying that Dwight has now mentioned Dallas as his wishlist destination. Apparently he was totally blindsided by this JJ to Brooklyn trade. Dallas ain't getting him through a trade though.

Danny Ferry is a God, unloaded JJ's contract and finally found someone to take on Marvin and we get Devin Harris who is an expiring. C'mon throw Horford, Teague, John Jenkins, and expirings like Devin Harris, Farmar, etc, and whatever future picks they want. We have 2 first rounders next year alone we can send them. As long as we keep Josh and Morrow I'll be happy because with Dwight in the cards we can try to convince Chris Paul or James Harden to create a big 3 in ATL next summer.

JJ's contract is horrendous though
2012/2013: 19.7 mil
2013/2014: 21.4 mil
2014/2015: 23.1 mil
2015/2016: 24.9 mil
With that said respect to JJ, led the Hawks to 5 straight playoff appearances and 6 straight all star teams, I just dont think he's worth half of that money and it will get increasingly worse as he gets older.

apparently, if the Magic were willing to accept a deal from the Nets, they could manage a big 3 of Deron/JJ/Howard. trade would have to be Wallace+Lopez+Brooks+picks, but they can, theoretically, get Dwight in. still believe ATL is the leader with their recent moves, though
