Dallas should throw serious cash at Steve Nash, Ray Allen, Antawn Jamison and Marcus Camby to try to make one more run at the title. Lets be honest D12 is not signing there in 2013 so u might as well try to load your team in Dirk's final seasons.

Still stunned that the Nets shut the door on Dwight when he was basically crying to get there.

What do you mean? Everyone they were going to trade for him is still on the team cap space means nothing for them

Trading for Dwight would put them at the apron and hard cap them. Then they cant sign anybody to fill out the rest of the roster.

Making the trade for Joe Johnson before getting the Dwight situation resolved was idiotic, they could have easily told Deron that the JJ trade is in verbal agreement but if they can get Dwight they would cancel that I'm sure Deron would understand.

The Lakers are already hard capped. They can only use the mini mle in fa.

With Howard at $19.5M, they'd be at $71.75. That would give them $3.25M for 6 spots. I cant see how they can get Howard and fill out the rest of the roster.

They should trade for Tayshaun while they're at it. Dallas has trade exceptions. Make it happen.

They cant even sign you.
If the apron becomes a team's hard cap, it cannot exceed the apron under any circumstance. If the team subsequently needs to sign a player (for example, to replace injured players) it must first create room under the apron by waiving player(s) with non-guaranteed salary, waiving player(s) with guaranteed salary and utilizing the stretch provision, trading downward in salary, etc.

No in the new CBA they have set a apron of 70 million. If you are at 70 million and over you are hard capped.
Luxury tax is for every dollar your over 70 million. You have to pay the league a dollar for dollar fine.

Ya you are if you use the full MLE like Brooklyn/New Jersey did when they signed the euro and are over 70 million like they would be with Howard. Then the Hard cap comes into effect.

Clippers should offer Chris Paul+Deandre instead of Blake. Bledsoe is a starting PG in the league.
jk, i know orlando would never go for that.

Apparently the Rockets are doing another one of those backloaded deals for Jeremy Lin: 3 years/$24 Million. $5 Million/$5.2 Million/$13.8 Million

Dolan will not let a cash cow like Lin leave. He will match any offer Lin gets.

The Nets were a threat to get Dwight when they had cap space. Now that they used it up, the Magic are no longer afraid of losing Howard to Brooklyn. They can tell him, "You want to leave? Go for it. Take their MLE." Brooklyn is officially OUT of the running for Howard.
Dallas and Atlanta (with their new found cap space) are going to be the new threats to land Dwight.
But if Orlando hangs on to Dwight till the end of the season, he'll lose out on $35M dollars if he leaves them. They can offer him more than anyone else. That's why he's been forcing a trade. He wants the team that gets him to have his Bird Rights. But teams are going to have to give up something that ORL wants.
