Of the three completed games I've played I've survived 2 (and won one of those) and the 3rd I was the 3rd to last player standing and barely lost.

It's a rule in pretty much every themed game. It's in my rules. There has already been a warning about it earlier.

well I'm just saying I missed anything about it. I wouldn't go character revealing to get myself mod-killed. what did you think I was just trying to tempt you or something?

The problem is, once you do it, it can effect peoples voting pattern. Accident or not, it's a no-no in the new-breed mafia games.

I knew exactly who was being referred to as soon as the George Lucas reference was made.

I think jr made the right move, or at least its what I would have done. No character revealing is a firmly established rule in every themed game, so any ignorance of it is no excuse. And even if you weren't trying to sway people's opinions, you inevitably will. Although I don't know why you would post something like not hoping for some reaction. Any one does something like that in my Community game, and I will modkill them as soon as I see it. I feel it cheapens the game, intended or not.

But is sbh evil or good? Traitor's a mafia role, yet its in blue.

Traitor needs to be targetted by the mafia, otherwise he remains town-aligned.

I agree with everything you said though. If the 'no role reveal' rule is in play, don't hint at all. It's pretty simple.
