With Votto out, I'm sorta OK with losing. I hope this team figures it out though because they have a real good shot in the next month. They NEED to make a move. They lose, they'll still be a game out.

Bro, never be ok with losing. More games you win now is the less games you'll need to win come September.

Well, I mean I'm not OK with losses, but I fully don't expect them to win every game. Still got three months left and the Pirates are 9 games over and a game back assuming they don't make a large comeback in the 9th. I'm not ready to jump off the bridge I should say.

It wasn't boring to watch. A lot of awesome defensive plays as well. Revere and Span both made spectacular plays in the outfield.

Shut up! We lead the majors in errors AND have Wilson Betemit and Mark Reynolds as corner infielders.

We have one good defender, ONE. Two if you count our catchers (Laird, Avila) who are pretty good but not great. Cabby is better than expected at third, but still below average. Peralta is below average. The second base tilt a whirl is below average. Fielder is horrible. The left fielder/right fielder carousel is below average for the most part, with Boesch and Delmon both being godawful and Quintin Berry being decent. Jackson is great, but that's it.

Cards have the best run differential in the NL and third in the majors only next to the Rangers and Yankees. If we can only put all of it together, we can do it. Our bullpen blows before Boggs and Motte.

I think it was gonna happen anyway but it definitely makes it a much more pressing need. It also makes it more likely that we will seek a power bat as opposed to a lead off type guy IMO.
Sucks to lose Joey but I have a feeling his return will be on the lower end of what is expected.

Marte homers, triples, and doubles in Indy, and Pirates are so preocupied about his trade value that they'd rather play a utility infielder in his position than call him up.
It has to be getting repetitive, but when is enough gonna be enough? Your star of prospect is killing it in AAA while we don't even have true outfielders on the roster. Any day Sutton or Harrison play in the outfield and Marte is in the minors is a bad one for this club. He better be up for the honestand this weekend.

I love me some sabermetrics/Fangraphs, but do they seriously have Alicides Escobar as the 47th highest trade value? Jesus.
