That is absolutely horrifying. Howard Stern as Scarecrow and Madonna as Harley Quinn would be the worst thing ever.

I love the cast, but I'm still so disappointed Aronofsky's not going to be the one doing it. Plus the director they did get's resume is awful, wrote all of the underworld movies, directed a couple of them and the 4th Die Hard movie. I really want this remake not to suck, but I can't help but feel like it's going to.

I saw that movie for the first time this past year and I really loved it. It jumped into my top 25 immediately.
One of my has extra tickets to a midnight IMAX showing of the Dark Knight Rises and just invited me.

Its pretty bad, and a completely unnecessary reboot.

It's a good movie. Going in, I felt it was unnecessary and I wasn't excited, but it exceeded my expectations. I still feel it was unnecessary, but it was better than the last two Spider-Man movies and pretty close to as good as the first one.

Couldn't disagree more. It may be better than the third one but not the first two by any means. The relationship developed between Peter and Gwen was awkward and didnt realistically develop at all what so ever. I mean even Rami's movies did a better job of developing Peter's relationship than this one did and this was coming from the guy who directed 500 days of summer. Then we had to sit through this awkward puzzle of how Peters parents were involved with Connors and what they were working on that was never answered in the slightest and left me more confused than anything else about what they were going for there. Spoiler Connors character also was way under developed and made no sense, the middle of the movie the guy just has double personalities out of nowhere? Sort of like the Goblin did, only that was sort of explained and developed, only here it just was sort of there without any explanation- A friend of mine was convinced that someone else was talking to him in the sewer, thats how terribly developed that whole thing was. Also, in the final battle, did Connors just have a change of heart within .2 seconds after he was beat and decided to save Peter for no real reason? Wasn't he trying to kill Peter just one scene ago when he attacked the high school? Didn't make any sense what so ever. And his plan? Don't even get me started. His whole plan was to turn NY into lizard people? Why, what purpose would this serve him, or anyone for that matter?
We also had to spend like half the movie dealing with things that Rami's movies covered in like fifteen minutes, and they were never really explored through either... Like Peter started as a vigilante to find his Uncles murderer, and then just gives up on it for no reason, literally no explanation - he just stops. We also had to deal with the vaguest end credit scene in the history of comic book post credit scenes. Also, the action was pretty lousy as well.
And as much as I just bashed it, and could go on, I didn't HATE it, it just wasn't a good movie. And the more time you get to think about it, the more you realize how much was just wrong with it.
