In the books Robb is 15, was wounded and being nursed back to health by Jeyne Westerling when he hears about Bran and Rickon, so in a moment of weakness he bangs her and to preserve her honour he marries her. He didn't marry her on a whim, he did it because he thought it was the right thing to do. It was still REALLY stupid but you kind of understood it because of who his father was and how he was raised.

In the show he's just a love sick puppy dog little *****.

It probably helps the TV guys out to squeeze a couple more episodes out of certain characters...helps market more drama for next season. They really need to film 2 seasons at once so we can get fall and spring seasons. Arya is going to be 30 by the time they finish everything.

Halfway through a FFC right now and I'm loving the books. Started re-watching the show too to see if I could pick up on some characters and plot points I might have missed before.

It was funny watching season 1 episode 2 today while Tyrion and Jaime are eating breakfast Jaime says(talking about the recently crippled Bran) "If I'm ever a cripple like that just put me out of my misery" and a little later in the conversation Tryion says something along the line of "I love my family and would never do anything to hurt them."

i never thought there was that much depth to the show. not that it's a bad show by any means, but it feels really... flat, comparatively.

With regards to your spoiler, I'm going to be seriously pissed if the last scene with Theon/preview for next week is true.

It looks like first the kid says "my sister sent me" and then the preview shows him setting Theon free.

Unless I'm forgetting part of the books and this is just a trick by Bolton's bastard, they will be skipping my favorite part of the stories in seeing Theon suffer. But then again, they didn't really touch on the real Reek in the 2nd season I don't think did they?

I distinctly remember the books mentioning Ramsay tricking Theon into trying to escape. I'd be shocked if they changed the storyline that much. Also I was really excited for the "A dragon is no slave" part, but I guess we'll have to wait another week or 2.

Ok ok, that's good. I haven't read the books in almost a year, so I've forgotten some.

It will be interesting to see what they do with Dany, the Unsullied, and Slaver's Bay. Since they apparently are breaking up book 3 into seasons 3 & 4, I wonder if they plan to split the Westeros/Essos stories somewhat evenly, or focus more on Westeros this season and then Essos next?

I think focusing too much on Westeros would be a mistake considering last season was very light on Danny storylines. Going 2 seasons without her in it might hurt with casual fans.

with the red wedding coming, not introducing Danny's emancipation movement might make the show a little too depressing to keep it as wildly popular as it is.

Is "Rains of Castamere" supposed to be the red wedding episode? Otherwise it might not be until season 4 since the red wedding is at the end of SoS?

Either way, I'm pumped. My friends are going to lose their ****. They keep thinking Robb will take over and destroy all opposing armies.
