I don't understand this cycling stuff. Not sure if you guys watched, but two guys took about a ten second lead with five miles left and nobody in the main pack even tried to catch up. Very anticlimactic finish for the first medal of this Olympics.

Those guys would have been pretty damn tired. Half of that group broke off after 30km and powered in front the whole race. I'm not surprised they couldn't keep up, especially with such a wily vet in Vinokourov pushing out ahead.

Phelps looked okay in his first swim. He looked like he might have been taking it a bit easy to conserve energy. But he didn't sound to happy in his post swim interview.
