Dodgers are the supposed front runners for Pence.
Id love it, but we need another arm as well...
Also just a little fun fact, my first varsity hit my freshman year was off of Fife, the dodgers starter tonight. He's from Boise, wasnt unreal in college but hit his stride in college.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm going to miss Hunter Pence. He strikes you as one of those people you want to hang out with. Maybe it's because he seems dumb. Maybe it's because I have to hear him being called "goofy" 18x a guy by Chris Wheeler.
But still....I might miss Jonathan Singleton more.

Apparently the DBacks have been scouting the Cardinals. Wonder who they are interested in. They don't really have anyone I'm interested in....well no one that wouldn't cost elite prospects.

What do the Cardinals need?
D'Backs need 3B but I doubt we would be trading for Freese though if the price is right I wouldn't mind it
Probably just gonna be Bloomquist or Drew for some mid level prospect

We have Matt Carpenter, who's been impressive in his first season as a backup to Freese.
64 games: .289 BA, 4 HR, 23 RBI, .356 OBP, 11 2B, 4 3B, 37 SO, 16 BB
Bet that's who they're looking at. Cards could use a starter and a right handed bat off the bench.

I would love to get Carpenter on the A's somehow if he's actually available. The A's have plenty of starting pitching to trade. Headley is my first choice but he's not under control long term and the cost may be prohibitive. Carpenter may be a great under the radar pickup that helps now but also helps greatly for the next 5 years.
What type of package do you think it would take?

Probably smarter to miss Singleton more, given that Howard's going to be making that money for the next 4.5 years.

Several reasons to keep Olt untouchable.
1. Napoli does not like playing 1B.
2. Hamilton situation. he stays. Olt is the cheapest 1B alternative in the lineup.
3. Losing him for a rental pitcher? Don't think so.
4. Not many MLB teams have stability at 3B so Rangers hold him in high regard.
5. Rangers worship him.

Olt is really solid at third, so that's sort of wasting his potential.

Giants put Pablo on the DL, DFA Burris, and activate Scutaro and Huff.

Chase Headley is not out of question for Yankees? I can't imagine how can Yankees acquire him. Padres want the Matt Latos like package and Yankees have zero "high level" prospects to part with. Adam Warren, Manny Banuelos or Dellin Betances? I wish.
Yankees have strong prospects and they are coming from A or below. I don't see the way Yankees will kneel and bow before the Padres by forking over Mason Williams, Tyler Austin and/or Gary Sanchez.

George Kottaras going to Oakland. No word on what will be sent back to Milwaukee in return. He has a ridiculous walk rate right now.
Something will have to happen with Suzuki or Norris as Kottaras is definitely a lefty platoon guy.

I think it is more the fact that Wandy is just not very good this year.

I was so excited to have an opportunity to FINALLY see the A's this weekend with this free MLB.tv game of the day. But Bend, OR is in the Athletics' blackout region. REALLY? I am currently 480 miles and a 9 hour drive away from O.co Coliseum. How the hell does MLB justify a blackout up here?

He just doesn't have control tonight. Already walked his season high and he's only though 3 innings. And there have been two very hard hit balls right to infielders. Not pitching well, but he's only given up one.

Looks like Cueto streak of sucking at Coors Field will continue.
