Well a potential third drug test means he can't play NCAA football for a good year.

If they stick with this I will respect Les Miles 10x fold. Even though I hate/use to hate his guts.
This reminds me of the Marcus Vick situation. Too stupid to realize if they kept their head on straight, they could have had a bright future.

LSU's official drug policy. First positive test: No suspension. Second: Up to 15 percent of games. Third: One year suspension.
|
Copied from Stewart Mandel who also tweeted this:

If Mathieu was not eligible, per LSU policy, he will not be eligible for any NCAA school, even FCS, this year.

Big blow for LSU. He was the attitude of that team and a lot of people are down on him because he's not going to be a lockdown NFL corner, but he is one of the biggest impact players in the college game. He ****** himself and the team, LSU still is loaded but I think he's one of the last players they could have afforded to lose.

Man, I was excited about him as a prospect and felt he could be a game changer in the secondary at the next level if put in the right role. He might need the pieces around him on D to make it work, but he's an impact player I have no doubt about it. If he doesn't play any football this year that changes my opinion big time about him, but if he does I don't see how he's not a great risk pick in the 4th round or so.

If he cannot play at all in the NCAA, I hear the CFL/Arena league is always looking for players...

I believe they won't take players that are not eligible for the NFL. Not sure though.
(personally, I feel it's stupid if that's the case)

That's crazy. In order to play at another NCAA school, he'd have to be eligible at his previous school.
His choices are apparently play at an NAIA school, junior college or HBCU.

What an absolute ******. Man that just irks me when someone so talented can't follow some simple, not outrageous rules, no matter how stupid they may think they are.

He'd likely go to NAIA or a HBCU.
