Wait when did McCoy say he was entitled to something? Just curious.
He's pissy because they drafted his replacement so soon and aren't giving him a crack at the starting job in camp. (It's supposedly a competition, but it's heavily slanted in Weeden's favor, including not giving McCoy any reps with the first team.)
That and the whole concussion thing last season where he was sent back into the game.

Oh I see. Well what did he say?

They both suck. Like I said, might as well suck without the drama.

1. Coaches (according to PFT) were not thrilled with how he responded to crticism from the coaching staff. Said he was babied through high school and college.
2. His whole family publically bitching about the whole Weeden situation. You lost the job bc you sucked. Deal with it.
3. His dad and the whole concussion thing. Again, more pissing and moaning.
Why deal with all of that? He brings a lot of unwanted attention with him. It's not worth it for a mediocre player.
Going to GB isn't going to magically make his arm any stronger either.

Carmelo Anthony is a better and more productive player than Kevin Durant

Oh I thought there was actually a quote of him speaking up and saying something himself, not his family. I already knew about his father complaining to the Browns organization. Colt might not have control over that. His family is going stick up for him regardless of what Colt may or may not want them to say.
And I perseonally usually take information from PFT with a grain of salt. Especially when unnamed coaches and sources "say something". Actually I usually dismiss that from any media outlet that says something along those lines.
Nevermind.

It's still a distraction. An unwanted one.

Leave it to Niner fans to go into super siyan hyperbole mode over the first preseason game. Last year we looked so bad everybody sucked and we would only win 4 games at best and Harbaugh was in way over his head. Fast toward to 2012, Jacobs is a beast and will rush for over 600 yards...as the short-yardage back/3rd string back, behind Gore and Hunter, Tolizen is Brees 2.0 and should be the #2 behind Smith, we should have never re-signed Carlos Rogers, Goldson sucks, Kaepernick is a running back playing QB and will never develop. Gotta love pre-season.
Colt has had ****** playmakers his whole time with the Browns. It'd be smart for the Packers to acquire Colt because if Rodgers gets hurt their season isn't completely over. I think his being a distraction is being completely overblown.

Stop reading the forums at .com. I haven't been there in over 6 years.

The sad thing is its not even the fans who were calling Tolzien "Baby Brees", but it was the 49ers DB's (mainly Dante Whitner).
I don't think its that far-fetched to think Tolzien should be the backup though. I've felt for a while he would outperform Josh Johnson in the actual games. Kaepernick is much improved over last year but still looks awkward overall as a passer. His running abilities might propel him to the #2 role though, because he can be used in other packages.
Here's my view on the Tebow thing on one hand I think it could easily happen due to aforementioned attention ***** owner/head coach. I also believe that it would be the 100% wrong football move but it would make me happy to have Tebow eventually fail or succeed to become the starter next year and THEN fail boat out of the league. If you read the tea leafs it seems like the Jets have been building the team for the eventual Tebow takeover.

The Giants are still the team to beat, obviously the defending champs should be. If David Wilson can have a solid rookie season, the offense will be very tough to contend with. They already have the D-Line and the secondary.
How far the Eagles get will depend on Vick's health. He has had a lot of problems thanks to a lot of hits. Now that Jackson has his contract, it won't be as much of a distraction.
When the Jets traded for him, I figured he would eventually become the starting QB and I still believe that. Though right now, it’s Sanchez’s job to lose and he’s not going to lose it in the pre season because if you compare him to Tebow, Mark is the much better “thrower”. If Sanchez struggles during the season, Woody Johnson is going to force Rex and Co. to start Tebow. And to be honest, I don’t think the coaching staff believes in either guy. Defensive Coordinator Mike Pettine (Rex’s right hand man) said the other day that Tebow is a package QB. He even went on to say that Mark is much more of a complete QB. I think we all can agree with that.
I want to put CAR in the playoffs too but the NFC is just so stacked I don't know who to leave out. Compelling cases could be made for three teams in the NFC Beast, ATL, NO, CAR, three in the North, and obviously one has to make it in the West.
It's tough to predict because I think teams that don't make it will be the ones who struggle with injuries, mainly QB injuries, and that's impossible to forecast.
And the 10 I mentioned above doesn't count a possible surprise team from the final six in the conference (SEA, STL, ARZ, WAS, TB, MIN). At least one of those teams is going to at least be competitive - possibly two.
Exactly. Harrell really is a very bad NFL QB, and I don't really think he should even be in the NFL. He's not an even remotely accurate passer, he doesn't have a strong arm, and he's 27 years old (so there's no reason to think he's going to magically develop his physical skills). He basically makes McCoy look like Montana.
Watching Graham Harrell hurts my eyes.

Just my thoughts at the moment.
Well, for one, you'll note that I didn't say he was going to lose the job in the preseason. I've been saying week 6 since the move was made. Just seems like that logical point in the season when everything is starting to take shape. If they're 2-4 (or worse) 3 games back in the division and needing a miracle...guess who they might be forced to turn to.
Woody Johnson is proving to be quite the attention *****. I think he's very sensitive to fan and media perceptions of the team and if they're struggling, he may force the team to turn to Tebow. Sanchez is in a rought spot and he's kind of had it easy the last few years since even if he struggled, there were no other QBs worth a damn on the roster to replace him with.
Now I'm not saying that Tebow is worth a damn as a starting NFL QB, but the fans and media seem to think he is. If Sanchez (and by extension, the team) are struggling, the boo birds will be out in full force. There are going to be Tebow chants after every mistake he makes.
The Jets are in a very rough spot and I think they're far closer to catastrophe than the playoffs right now.

Well, I'm sort of looking at it from the perspective that there is an average playoff team turnover of 50% from year to year. So that means 3 teams from the NFC are likely to fall out while they get replaced by 3 others.
And looking at the teams in the NFC who didn't make it last year, the Panthers with Newton (if he continues to play out of his damn mind,) are probably the best of the bunch, followed by the Bears and maybe Seattle if they get adequate QB play from someone.
Oh and the Eagles. Though this news of Nnamdi being carted off after a brutal collision with "blood on his jersey" could be ugly business....a concussion is practically a death sentence in today's NFL.

Yeah, the Packers really should have addressed this earlier in the offseason. I think they were counting on finding a steal in the draft (similar to what they got in Flynn...a pro ready guy going a round or two later than he was projected) but it didn't pan out. They got Coleman, but he's a certified project. They need someone who can take over and keep them afloat THIS year if something happens to Rodgers.
And like I said, if he goes down for a long time, they're ******. But on a contending team, you don't go in thinking your backup can win you the Superbowl. You just need them to go .500 or so until your starter can come back, just to keep you afloat.
