McKenzie just isn't very likeable. The debate presentation was silly and totally missed the boat. Still don't care about crazy face n her friend, starting to like Don though. Oliva Munn and Neal were great. He's so much better with a real story rather than big foot/ancient aliens/etc shtick they stuck him with earlier, and she's just fun to see on screen, although I hope Sorkin doesn't think he's occupied her by giving some lip service to the debt ceiling.

I thought the Falling Skies season finale was pretty good. I'm glad it was renewed, but I hope there is some sort of progress next year because not a whole lot happened with the main plot this season.

I actually loved the debate format. It'd be nice to see someone acknowledge what we all know that every answer they giver never actually answers the question. Another good show.

But not even close to Political Animals. That was great even if it was short. Feel like it went unappreciated. Some of my favorite tv of the summer.

he's supposed to be a psychopath they have little/no emotions

It's really solid for the first 4 seasons, but 5-7 are when it becomes incredibly captivating.

Sociopaths are impossible to root for. The audience would just be waiting for him to get caught if he wasn't a heroic figure in some way.

It's called progression. He's nowhere near interesting enough as a sociopath alone to stay that exact character for that long. Season 2 was the best until the copout finale because it dug deep into his psyche.

I've said this before but I think the problem with Dexter is the concept of the show is very limited. Because the action and drama of the show centers around him being a serial killer, if his character develops and he realizes that he doesn't need to be a killer, there is no action. If he realizes no matter what he will always be a killer, then there is no character progression. So one way you have nothing happen and the other way you have the same thing happen over and over again. And because the show has obviously gone on too long, the writers have just been going back and forth between the two to where it's no longer interesting.

that's the thing though he is a psychopath he can't progress, you could put him on some meds or something but he will never develop any sort of actual emotions

Of course they can't progress when the writers cop out and do something dumb to regress his character 3 years.

It might not be a perfect show, but Dexter has had many more great moments then it's had terrible ones. Maybe not so much lately, but the early seasons of the show are still great TV. There are some scenes in Season 4 that are jaw droppingly tense.
