Just finished doing some research on the A's and their performance since June 1st. Some pretty compelling stuff here.

Since June 1st:
47-27 in 74 games (20 games over .500)
3rd in MLB in wins
1st in MLB in win percentage
13th in MLB in runs scored
3rd in MLB in runs allowed
Tied (w/ NYY) for in MLB 2nd in run differential
12th in MLB runs scored per game

By the way, this amazing run coincides precisely with Yoenis Cespedes' return to the lineup. Our young star's first game back was June 1st. Since his DL stint, Cespedes is batting .318/.375/.531 with 11 HR, 8 SB and only 1 CS.

During that same time frame, Coco Crisp went from below replacement level to star in his own right. While providing stellar CF defense, Crisp has put up a line of .289/.350/.482 with 8 HR, 21 SB and only 4 CS.

For the season, the A's are 57-36 when Cespedes plays and since returning from the DL, they are 42-23 when Cespedes plays. The A's are 5-4 since June 1st when Cespedes does not play. In both cases, the A's out-performed their non-Cespedes record by a significant margin.

Not as bad as he is making him out to be, but yea he hasn't been very good at all. Still probably better than Drew Stubbs though.

Picking between Heisey and Stubbs is like picking diabetes taking your left foot or your right foot.
Both slow and agonizing processes and you lose a foot in the end regardless.

Heisey cant play every day. Every time we try extended time for him his stats drop. He lost his HR power. His defense is laughably overrated. (He dives way too much because he sucks at reading the ball, especially in CF) He is an idiot on the bases.

Stubbs at least plays defense and doesnt make a complete ass of himself on the bases. When you have a 40 point lead in BA and still only get on base 20 points better....

I dont like Heisey. I dont like Stubbs.
Cozart hits well enough and plays good enough D I want Hamilton in CF. He wont throw people out but he will run down a ton.

I dont think so. I thought him and Luddy should have platooned. And I thought Heisey deserved a shot to play. But his overall game as been horrible this year.
Just horrible. He got his shots early and tanked.

And I didn't expect Ludwick to go all 2008

I've actually heard that he is not well liked at all in the clubhouse.

Not only is Lew Ford somehow back in the league, he's DH'ing and hitting fifth for the Os tonight despite having a line of .161/.212/.258 this season.

First of all, talk about a small sample size(31 AB), but perhaps look at his AAA line this year: .331/.390/.550. Not defending the move, just saying...plus how can you expect me to forget LLLLLLLeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

I thought he should be given a chance to start because he had done well off the bench and was never given an opportunity to play everyday. No one would've thought Ludwick would be anywhere near where he is at right now as he had been pretty terrible for like two straight years.
