Whatd you guys think of the game tonight?
I thought Mcclendon and Carter looked really good.
Mike Adams looked weak.
Rainey looked fast.
Dwyer looked ok, seemed to be hurt after the long run.
Oline looked so bad in the 2nd half, it was hard to judge Batch. But he got a lot of carries. Thought we would see more of Clay.
Lots of young DBs flying around back there tonight I couldnt keep up with who was who!

i was at the game
so i dont think adams played bad. I thought he did some good things, and showed good feet. needs to engage better for sure, but not far behind where gilbert was last year. hes listed as the starting LT for a reason though, hes got some thigns to work on but thats expected.
decastro didnt look like he was struggling physically AT ALL, he did however look confused sometimes...bs on him having the mental part down, he was clearly confused sometimes.
dwyer looked great, his AC joint is gonna keep him out, thats a huge blow as it keeps redman in, who is terrible still.
love me some rainey, hes going to be a dangerous player.
batch like i thought is a nobody, i would be surprised if he makes the team.
sanders was taking nnamdi to school, just something to note
got pouncey to sign my jersey :-) my gf was so embarrassed. she hates football, i was yelling at im from behind the bench in the 3rd lol

Some thoughts:
- The tackles as a whole need to get out of their stance quicker, all of them were beaten off the edge.
- DeCastro was pretty solid, didnt see him get beat.
- Adams had a rough night, but he showed some skill in the run game, which was his biggest question mark.
- Brown and Sanders look smoooooooth.
- McLendon was beasting out there, look quick and very strong.
- Carter looked OK, didnt look completely out of place, but definitely not starting material yet.
- Foote looked solid in limited action, nice speed to the sideline :|
- Cortez looked beastly, plays with much more confidence and poise than K.Lewis.
- Curtis Brown looked scrappy and technically sound, good coverage on the Gilyard TD, just didnt turn round quick enough.
- Sly and Spence both fly to the football, both blitz well...they just need to make the tackle when they get there!!
- Brandon Johnson looked pretty solid, didnt see him on special teams, but held his own on D.
- Al Wood looked pretty good, not as quick as i thought, but looked strong. Beasted on that INT, floored the olineman, and good awareness on the pick!
- Corbin Bryant looked QUICK for a DE, disrupting the pocket a lot, looked abit weak in the run game.
- Adrian Robinson was bringing the heat! Every play! Played in 4-point stance a lot. Looked ok in space, not quite deep enough in his drop though. Looked gassed after each play.
- Mundy, W.Allen, Rolle and Cro-Smith all looked average to poor. Allen and Rolle showed some nasty though.
- A lot of the CB's rotated in and out, Frederick, Freeman and Victorian looked ok.
- Robert Golden didnt do too badly, probably a practice squad player as of now, has more upside than the rest of the backup safeties on the roster.
- Ta'amu is not ready yet, good job mcLendon is.
- Jerrod Johnson was so so, got the physical tools, but lacks poise at the moment.
- Batch and Clay looked poor.
- Rainey has got some wheels! Man that kid is shifty.
- Tyler Beiler made a nice catch, was invisible apart from that.
- Toney Clemons was completely invisible :(
- Jamie McCoy will be in the next cuts.
- Backup o-line was dreadful! Ryan Lee was the only bright spot, didnt see him get beat once, and was playing NASTY. Looked much better than Beachum.
No one else really warrants a mention.

An Al woods sighting, it was ****ing great. Hes been my dude since like 07 when he was at LSU, i said prior to this season for such an INCREDIBLE athlete, seriously insane athletic measurables he needs to shake the raw label.
Rainey is going to be a super exciting player and just like i thought looks to be that WR/scat back. They are going to get him the ball.
loving me some mcclendon, and not gonna lie i had my doubts. Baron Batch is a nobody, but dwyer looked real good in his short time. Lean and mean
I agree on ryan lee, theres a member on SA that was pimping him for a while, nice to see him stepping up

If Redman starts the year on the PUP list, Dwyer still is hampered, and Batch isn't ready, I want the Steelers to sign Chris Ivory when the Saints release him. I think he's a pretty good player and could help our running game until Mendenhall comes back.

I wouldn't mind that at all. Ivory is a shifty back with good vision. Doesn't seem the most durable, but look at all the big backs on our team that have proven looks can be deceiving.

All him coming off the PUP list means is that they are confident hell be back before week 6. Could be nice to help keep him fresher down the stretch if he misses the first quarter of the season or so.

Yep...and we're gonna need him in this offense.

Jason Worilds better get back on the field because Carter AND Adrian Robinson are going to take his spot this season. I like Worilds, but everytime I watch Carter and Robinson, they look so good.

man this Oline is a mess. Hated the Adams pick and still do, just proving how much over rated hype he had. I'll give him the benefit of doubt, and say the injury and rookie lumps.
Decastro not looking bad, if your name is not called out on Oline usually u are doing good.
Rb is another mess. I wish either the line or Rb were somewhat better. At least that way, the line could open up holes, for below average Rbs, or Rb can create for average run blocking line.

Interesting thing that I was looking at the other day. Most of our top homegrown pass rushers in the Dick Lebeau era have been from small schools.
Greg Lloyd- Fort Valley State
Joey Porter- Colorado State
Clark Haggans- Colorado State
Jason Gildon- Oklahoma State
James Harrison- Kent State
LaMarr Woodley- Michigan
Chris Carter(potentially)- Fresno State
Adrian Robinson(I hope potentially)- Temple

Do you guys think Rainey will have a solid role in the offense? Hows he looked in pre-season and is he getting any touches running the ball or mainly a 3rd down guy/ slot reciever?

Yes I do. I think he's going to be a difference maker on our team. He's going to be a good one.
Decastro :(
Cortez Allen is going to be very good.
My boy Robert Golden making plays out there, which I like. He's going to be a starter for us IMO.

Sorry about DeCastro. He was one of my favorite players in the draft. You hate to see guys lost for the year, even if they are rivals.

Is Antonio Brown still returning kicks this year? He looks like a beast. He's like this mash-up of Ward and Holmes all in one amazing package.

I don't think he is. That'll be Rainey's job.

It looks like Antonio Dixon and John Conner are going to get cut from their respectable teams. If they do, I wouldn't mind either in Pittsburgh especially Conner.

So ******* disappointed with DeCastro's injury. Torn MCL, partially torn Patellar Tendon, and Dislocated Kneecap. That just sounds absolutely terrible.

Predictions for the last cuts? Here are mine:
Kelvin Beachem OL
Tyler Beiler WR
Corbin Bryant/Al Woods DL (can't chose between the two)
Toney Clemons WR
Damon Cromarte-Smith S
Terrence Fredrick CB
David Gilreath WR
DuJuan Harris RB
Brandon Hicks LB
Ike Igbinosun DL
Jerrod Johnson QB
Jeremy Kapinos P
Ryan Lee OL
John Malecki OL
Marquise Maze WR
Marshall McFadden LB
Chris Scott OL
Jake Stoller DL
Derrick Williams WR
Josh Victorian CB
David Paulson TE
Adrian Robinson OLB
Some tough choices. I REALLY want Paulson and Robinson to make the team, but numbers at other positions might not let that happen. I could see DCS making the team for Denver only, then being cut. I like Golden's long term potential more than his and I'm afraid that he'll get snatched up along with Robinson.
I like Worilds, but I would probably let him go for Robinson. I think he's going to be a great find.
I couldn't decide between Woods and Bryant. They're too close.
I think we keep 4 WRs right now.
