I'm thinking that the playcalling was more about trying some things and testing some people than winning a game. They know they can run the ball.
I can't wait for Monday. Every nitwit in town with a microphone will be running around like their hair was on fire, whining about the end of the world and how awful the Chiefs are. It's pre-season.

Yeah, the playcalling wasn't very reflective of what I think they'll do in the regular season. They were trying to force some things because the outside receivers really hadn't been involved in the previous two games.

most notable cuts from the Chiefs are FB Shane Bannon and WR Jeremy Horne

Bannon just didn't put in the work in the off-season. And the WR depth is too strong for Horne to make it this year.

Neither are surprising though. Eachus showed more in one half than Bannon did since being drafted and Horne wasn't consistent enough to win a spot over the other receivers.

Get this Patriot ******** out of here! Flush that crap down the toilet and start over.
This team is not gonna be successful this year. You want to know why? Because we don't have a good QB or a good overall pass rush which is what you need to succeed in this league.

Agreed on all.

You guys should look at the team before Pioli was hired and look at it now. And don't forget about a division title in 2010 and a blocked FG away from one in 2011. You're overreacting a little bit.

We are a QB away from a legit Super Bowl contender. How many teams can say that? 2-3? Where were we when Carl Peterson left?

Agreed. Plus, this years crop of QBs should be insane. Barkley, Jones, Geno Smith, EJ Manuel (maybe?), Tyler Wilson, Tyler Bray, Logan Thomas.. we should be able to upgrade that position significantly in April.

And what happens when Pioli doesn't draft a first round QB next year? This team is gonna pick in the middle teens to early twenties. And we all know Pioli won't trade up. It's not his style. It's not the "Patriot Way".

He admitted that he tried to trade up in this last draft. I don't know who it was for, but it was probably for Tannehill.
Pioli knows what this team needs. He knows we need a QB. He is a lot smarter than the rest of us.

You are right. We are giving too much. A 2nd and a conditional 4th.

I really don't like that thought. Just because he works in an NFL front office doesn't mean he is smarter or knows more about football than us. His advantage is experience and opportunity.

You really need to rethink that one.
Pioli is the youngest and one of only three NFL executives to win the Sporting News' George Young NFL Executive of the Year Award in consecutive years.
In 2009, ESPN called him Personnel Man of the Decade when they said that "No one in the league does a better job of scouting their own team, and [at the Patriots] Pioli was orchestrating all of that."
Pro Football Weekly and Sports Illustrated also selected him NFL Executive of the Year Award three times.
He certainly isn't perfect but yeah, he does more than us.

I agree that some GMs are a lot dumber than us, Pioli is not among that group by any stretch. If you understand what he's done while doing all of the scouting in-house, you know how ******* good he is.

For the people that said there is no QB worse than Matt Cassel, there are two and they are both his backups.

Well great. Flowers, Lewis, Tamba, and now DJ out of the game against the Falcons? That's a loss.
