Notre Dame's 2011 class has been pretty big today. Golson, Atkinson, Tuitt and Councell (I think I remember him doing something big, could be mistaken) have played major roles, and Daniels had a big play.

Where the hell did this Navy passing attack come from?
But I still have no idea why SC never once considered recruiting Everett Golson. He was in our backyard, he's been talked about since he was a high school freshman, and we aren't exactly rolling in quarterback depth. Whether or not actively recruiting him would have made any difference I don't know, but it just doesn't make sense to me that we never tried.

It doesn't mean much to beat Navy, but Notre Dame is cruising.
The only things that really concern me are the secondary and the kicking game.
I like Golson, and think he will improve through the season. The running game is going to be a real strength this year, even against non-Navy squads if they stay healthy. Atkinson and Reddick are very quick, and if Cierre Woods comes back as strong as last year, they'll be a very strong bunch. DeVaris Daniels is going to be a name to remember this year if they unleash Golson. Eifert is awesome. The offensive line looks pretty strong. I'm cautiously excited about this group.
Defensively, I love the front 7. Te'o was making plays everywhere, Tuitt looks like a star in the making, and the entire unit looked strong against the run. The secondary worries me, but there are some young guys with potential that I didn't see much of today.

To anyone else watching, does it seem like CBS is going out of its way to try to offend Irish people?

Penn State's band is playing "We Are Young" bu fun. Not sure that is the best choice of songs to play.

It's early but I expected atleast something from an Urban Meyer offense. Braxtons not throwing well.

Now that drives more of what I was expecting. What a ridiculous catch by Devon Smith.

Pretty bad set of early games so I'm glad I can catch WVU without missing much. Our offense is looking good, quick strike, taking what they give us. Our defense cant set an edge. Where's #11 Bruce Irvin? We miss him terribly. Someone needs to breakout because this front 6 will give up 6-8 every single run play.

There's a long hit for Murray. Receiver had to slow for it, but it's not like we wanted to attempt a real tackle anyway :/

Tavon Austin for Heisman. He's what we all wanted Devin Hester to be.
Also, to fully embrace this game experience from my couch, John Denver has been played after every WVU TD so far.

Tavon Austin with a 70 yard run, would have scored but he tripped up trying to get around the last defender in a foot race. Adament about getting him the TD, Geno gets the ball to him the next two plays.
Geno Smith 14/16 145 2TDs
Tavon Austin 3 Car 81 Yds, 5 Catches 18 Yds 1TD, 2PR 26 Yds
