That doesn't have anything to do with the DL. The problem is the defensive playcalling. Romeo doesn't trust the guys out there enough to bring the heat from different angles, and it's killing them. I get that they'd rather play passive and prevent big plays, but it's been way too conservative and the big plays are happening anyway.

Too much pressure on the offense to keep up.

The score is more indicative of the turnovers by Cassel than anything. There's not many defenses that will hold the Falcons in check this year.

That said, the absence of Hali was huge, as is the Chiefs inability to pressure the quarterback with 4 players. Hard to win when you can't get to the quarterback, half your secondary is out, you turn the ball over 3 times, and Matt Cassel is your quarterback.

Yeah. They just need to rework the way they run the defense for the coming weeks. Losing like that kinda sucked because the offense showed it can go down the field and score easily and the defense just did not respond to the losses of Flowers, Lewis, and Hali.

Lot of good out of that one despite the loss.

The second INT was bad - he was trying to force something because they were down by a lot. The other two weren't exactly "turnovers by Cassel". First INT should've been Pass Interference and even if it wasn't called, Moeaki should have caught it anyway. Perfect placement. Fumble was on the OL. Those ones are always on the OL.

We knew the tough part of the schedule was the early part, but I really hope they forget this game quickly and get to work on the Bills. The next four weeks are: AT Bills, AT Saints, Ravens, Chargers. Not an easy stretch by any means. They need to fix this team, and quick.

And Cassel is done. He is not the answer, obviously. Quinn isn't. Stanzi is not the future. We need a QB in this next draft in the worst way. It's time to end the drought of not picking a QB in the first round. It's time.

How is Cassel brought into that? He made one bad play all game when they were down by 20 in the 4th quarter.

The only possession the Falcons didn't score on was their last one.

The offense as a whole didn't handle the pressure of being down by 10 well with the defense clearly not able to keep Atlanta from scoring. Hopefully they learn from that experience, and hopefully they never have to deal with that again. The offense looked really good for the most part.

It was obvious how little faith they had in that makeshift secondary with the defensive playcalling. I can't wait to see adjustments made and a return of key players.

Side note: Poe looked good. Made a great play behind the line.

Cassel was solid to good before halftime. After halftime it was the same old Cassel. Good thing that this will be a good QB draft coming up. Maybe someone like Tyler Wilson or Logan Thomas will fall to us. There is so much talent around this team that they could come in and start right away almost.

That is unless we have an epic collapse and are picking top 10. Then maybe we can swing someone like Barkley (if he doesn't go first overall).
