I read that he was going to miss about a month, so I'd say no. Supposedly he broke his collarbone.

Sucks for Arkansas, although I won't deny I wish that South Carolina played them during that stretch.

Speaking of the Gamecocks, went to the ECU game this weekend. Was impressed by the performance. Obviously it is just ECU, but they played how you want and expect a top ten team to play against that level of opponent. Very surprised by Dylan Thompson's performance. Even his incompletions weren't bad at all, a few inexcusable drops by receivers as well as a few long balls that were close enough that with just a slight bit more accuracy/experience they become big plays. His performance was reminiscent of Garcia's good days. Much more vertical passing game than what we employ with Shaw, which of course is what Spurrier would prefer. We went into this season for seemingly the first time during the Spurrier era where there didn't look to be a chance of a quarterback controversy, yet Thompson may easily keep the starting job even with Shaw healthy.

I was able to catch a decent portion of the Georgia-Missouri game, gained more respect for the Missouri team despite the loss. It would be tough, but I can honestly see them contesting Florida and Tennessee for the #3 spot in the SEC East. I still expect us to beat them, but it will be a tougher game than I had expected.

Missouri and Texas A&M will upset somebody this year both are solid teams and good additions to the SEC.

14 is such an awkward # to be at. Obviously this move was all about getting a foot in the Texas market, which makes sense, but I'm not sold the move will really be worth it. 12 is an ideal # because you can have a conference championship game ($$) without having to split the pot too many ways. In order for any move to be financially viable, the two teams need to add more than the average amount of money split within a television contract. I'm not sold that A&M and Missouri do that for the SEC, despite their good television markets.

But while that move is questionable, the additions of Syracuse and Pittsburgh to the ACC made no sense then, and make no sense now. The east coast doesn't care about college football, and adding two mediocre programs from the Big East does nothing to change that.

Missouri vs. Arizona State is going to be a good game. The difference between this team and last years team is like night and day.

I am not really sure how I feel about Missouri in the SEC. I can get behind Texas A&M 100%, they seem to have the kind of college football tradition and fanbase that permeates the southeast. I can't say Missouri strikes me as having the same. They have had talented teams for a number of recent seasons, but the don't seem to me to have the same football culture as their new peers have.
