That Lincoln trailer looks badass. I don't care for American history, but I'm pretty excited to see that movie. Even just from the trailer you can tell DDL is going to kill it. He looks/sounds completely different and he might be the best at actually becoming the person he is trying to portray on screen.
I'm actually excite for this. At least it's not a carbon copy of itself.

Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' "The Hangover Part III," the third and final film in director Todd Phillips' record-shattering comedy franchise.
This time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.
"The Hangover Part III" reunites Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha as Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug. Returning to the ensemble are Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor and, as the guys' long-suffering wives, Gillian Vigman, Sasha Barrese and Jamie Chung. John Goodman joins the cast as well.
Phillips directs from a screenplay he wrote with Craig Mazin, who also collaborated with him on the screenplay for "The Hangover Part II." Phillips is producing the film under his Green Hat Films banner, together with Dan Goldberg. Thomas Tull, Scott Budnick, Chris Bender and J.C. Spink are the executive producers.
Also back for another round are Phillips' behind-the-scenes creative team from the first two films: director of photography Lawrence Sher, editor Debra Neil-Fisher and costume designer Louise Mingenbach. They are joined by production designer Maher Ahmad (upcoming "Gangster Squad") and editor Jeff Groth ("Project X").
A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures, "The Hangover Part III" is scheduled for release on May 24, 2013, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
I guess I just imagined Lincoln speaking with a deeper tone in his voice but every historical reference says he spoke in a high tone.
So that's why his voice didn't sound stereotypical...
In any case, this looks good. Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, music by John Williams, and directed by Steven Spielberg is a good setup.

I'm sure it'll be pretty, the acting will be great and the score wonderful...but Lincoln's so easy to make a boring film about and Spielberg isn't a director I trust to get the most interesting story out of an idea.

Yeahhhh, I'm not exactly inspired. I thought War Horse looked boring and it was pretty decent, so we'll see. Looking forward to Looper, Master, Seven Psychopaths, Argo, Killing Them Softly, Skyfall, Django, and Hobbit more.
I've heard so many conflicting reports on Lincoln that I can't be sure, but it does seem to me that the film plans fo focus almost exclusively on the topic of slavery and I'm not sure that is the direction a film on Lincoln should go. JMO.

Well...slavery is bad...and people need to understand that.

I have heard the source material kind of sensationalizes Lincoln's feelings towards slavery, ignoring historically accurate complications and contradictions in his feelings on the subject.

Psh crazy talk. Lincoln hated slavery and that's the only reason he lead the revolution against England and Canada!

Everything sensationalizes the living crap out of the founding fathers (England wasn't exactly a tyrannical dictatorship raping us everywhere), so why not do it with Lincoln?

Well...I think the topic of slavery is going to have to be included. Your typical average joe knows that Lincoln freed the slaves and that's about it. If it isn't a big part of the movie, people would probably complain.
